--> In the year 2278, the intrepid earth coalitions maintains a barbarous grip over the sole mining rights to the rare, and highly coveted, nihilium.\\
Though little is known about this volatile matter, demand has never been higher...

Set in the distant future, miners from the space mining colony Commodus Asteroid 27-C unintentionally awakens some sort of AncientEvil, leading to the employees, security personnel and residents to transform into grotesque, mutant abominations. Picking up a distress signal, you're part of a Search and Rescue Team who got yourself stranded aboard the colony, and of course you must shoot and kill your way out.

!! HYPERVIOLENT contain examples of:
* AnArmAndALeg: At one point you can come across one of the outpost's survivors, spacesuit and helmet intact, beckoning for you to rendezvous with him on a taller balcony. You made it all the way up (killing zombies and monsters as you do) and upon finding the guy, you realize he's still infected, courtesy of his right hand being ripped off in the outbreak and the virus entering his stump. He'll give you his keycard using his one good hand telling you to "get out while you still can".
* AsteroidMiners: Commodus Asteroid 27-C is an asteroid mining colony, where the miners unleashed something terrible after they DugTooDeep. And then you find yourself stranded in it and spends the whole game looking for an escape.
* CameraAbuse: You can have blood - yours and enemy mutants - splattering over the lens, either after killing mutants with explosive weapons from up close or when you suffer too many consecutive hits, where you then automatically wipes it off from your POV (a feature similar to the old, obscure FPS ''VideoGame/PoEd'').
* GoryDeadlyOverkillTitleOfFatalDeath: '''HYPER''' violent.
* HyperactiveMetabolism: Besides the typical Medi-kits common in these type of games, you can regain health by drinking "[[BrandX Muck Cola]]" - you lampshade that the beverage is terrible for you, but still boosts your health.
* InfernalRetaliation: Flaming mutants will emerge from pyres, covered in fire, and purposely attempt touching you while alight. The flames extinguish and they turn into a pile of ashes upon being killed.
* PipePain; The first weapon you obtain is a "scrap metal pipe", which works surprisingly well against low-level enemies. You keep using it to break skulls until finding firearms later.
* RiversOfBlood: There's a water treatment plant within the asteroid colony, but thanks to the mutation now the water surface is ''blood-red''. And yes, you'll need to wade through the blood every now and then.
* SceneryGorn: Commodus Asteroid 27-C after the infection ''doesn't'' look pretty. At all. From piles and piles of dead or mutilated miners everywhere, to corpses simply strung up on display, to blood all over the floors and walls...
* ShoutOut: One lengthy level have it's floors designed to resemble the [[Film/TheShining Overlook Hotel's carpet patterns]].
* SwordAndGun: You can wield a melee weapon and a firearm at the same time, where close-range weapons (hatchet, axes, etc) are held on your left hand and firearms are on your right. There are even two different buttons for whacking / shooting, both which can be used simultaneously.
* {{Unobtanium}}: The Nihilium ore, harvested in large quantities on Commodus Asteroid 27-C, but turns out to contain highly-powerful mutagenic properties.
