''Franchise/HarvestMoon: [[VideoGame/HarvestMoonANewBeginning A New Beginning]]'' is a title in the ''Franchise/HarvestMoon'' series.series, and it is the last in the ''Bokujō Monogatari'' series to be localized by Creator/{{Natsume}} and released in the West under the series title. It was released in 2012 and is the first game to only be allowed on the 3DS.

Added DiffLines:

After this game, Marvelous transferred localization rights to their Western subsidiary, Creator/XSEEDGames. Because Natsume still owns the rights to the name ''Harvest Moon'', future ''Bokujō Monogatari'' games are released under ''VideoGame/StoryOfSeasons'', while Natsume develops and releases their own games under the ''Harvest Moon'' banner. The first ''Story of Seasons'' game picks up its design from where ''A New Beginning'' leaves off.

** This game seems to love this. For example, the game forces this onto the player if they refuse to go online to get the required materials to complete tasks faster. Most egregiously, one particular task in Town Restoration Plan 4 requires you to ship 30 potatoes and 30 yams. By the time you get to [=TRP4=], chances are it would already be the end of year 1 fall, and yam seeds are not sold until fall of year 2. Even if you have the maker shed and yam seeds now (won from the Fall Crop Festival), you need to wait until year 2 summer to be able to get the blueprints for a greenhouse. And if you don't go online to get your parts, you'll be stuck waiting for year 2 fall to complete the plan. In other words, game delays you one whole year if you don't plan ahead or use Nintendo WFC, or 3 months if you do plan ahead but not use WFC. The quickest way out? Go online and beg for 30 yams to ship.

* FakeLongevity: This game seems to love this. For example, trying to go travel to far off places takes up a lot of time, and you need to go there to get semi-rare items. The time in general seem to go pretty quickly, and most people just switch their schedule just to get by. One big problem for many people is growing and shipping 30 yams and 30 potatoes in Town Plan #4. You’ll probably have already shipped potatoes and if you get the plan before Spring of the 2nd year you can know in advance to grow and ship some more. There’s also the greenhouse you can get in the Summer to grow some if you’re a bit late. The yams however can’t be gotten unless you beg someone to give you a couple, or wait until Fall of Year 2!

''Harvest Moon: A New Beginning'' is a title in the VideoGame/HarvestMoon series. It was released in 2012 and is the first game to only be allowed on the 3DS.

You come to an old and dying village, with very few people left. The EstablishingCharacterMoment for this whole town is in the first few seconds of the game when an old man, the mayor, collapses [[BigLippedAlligatorMoment out of nowhere in front of you]]. Now, it's up to you to save this town, by completing Town Restoration Plans that the mayor gives you. You have to win festivals with high quality crops or animals, build things to decorate the town, and move some more people in to get this place going.

Along the way, like in most VideoGame/HarvestMoon games, you can get married and even have a kid. You can also have various kinds of animals, such as llamas, sheep, alpaca, chicken, silkies, and more on your farm.
