* ForgivenButNotForgotten: Kratos has spent the past ten years fighting for the gods, so they'll free him of his memories of killing his wife and daughter. When asked if they will do so after he saves Athens and kills Ares, [[ExactWords Athena tells him he will be forgiven for his crimes.]] At the end of the game Athena reiterates this to Kratos since even if he has been forgiven no one should ever forget the terrible deeds he's done.
-->'''Kratos''': Athena, rid me of the memories that haunt me still.\\
'''Athena''': You have done well Kratos. Though we mourn the death of our brother, the gods are indebted to you. We promised your sins would be forgiven, and so they are. But we never promised to take away your nightmares. No man, no god, could ever forget the terrible deeds you have done.

** The narrator states that Kratos took three days to climb up Kronos to Pandora’s Temple, so the timespan is certainly longer than a single day - the player, however, sees nothing of Kratos’ climb as it cuts straight to him arriving at the temple
