Article contained erroneous information. Getting a game over does not make the player restart from Chapter 1, instead they get the option to restart from either before or after the last intermission and any progress the player had made before the game over is lost.

In contrast to the ActionAdventure nature of the ''Little Tail Bronx'' games preceding it, ''Fuga'' is a turn-based strategy game in where you control the Taranis' weapons systems, with the aim to have the best set-up between each weapon and the skillset of the character controlling it, and exploiting enemy weaknesses to certain weapon types in battle to delay their turns and shift the outcome in the player's favor, which is ''very'' ideal since any GameOver will restart you back to Chapter 1 (albeit with all prior experience intact). One particular weapon you can use is the Soul Cannon, the ultimate weapon that could turn the tide of battle… but to use it, one of the children must ''sacrifice their own life''…

-->--'''Malt'''

''Fuga: Melodies of Steel''[[note]]known as ''Fugue on the Battlefield'' in Japan[[/note]] is a turn-based RPG developed and published by Creator/CyberConnect2, set in the ''Little Tail Bronx'' setting alongside previous games ''[[VideoGame/TailConcerto Tail Concerto]]'' and ''VideoGame/{{Solatorobo}}''.

In the Free Lands of Gasco, set on a [[FloatingContinent an archipelago of floating islands]] inhabited by [[FunnyAnimal anthropomorphic dogs and cats called Caninu and Felineko]], exists a peaceful and remote village known as Petit Mona. The neighboring Berman Empire, despite Gasco's historical neutrality, has begun a campaign to annex much of its land.

One day, Malt Marzipan, a young Caninu shepherd living in Petit Mona with his grandparents and baby sister Mei, happens upon a cave that houses a gigantic tank. Not recognizing it for what it is however, Malt and his friends assume it to be some kind of god.

In the meantime, his grandparents assure him that-- upon hearing news of the war being declared-- their home would be too remote to be of any use to the Berman Empire… only for their armies lay waste to the village soon afterwards, proceeding to capture and abduct nearly all of its inhabitants, loading them onto air transports. However, Malt, Mei and their friends Hanna, Boron, Socks and Kyle manage to get away thanks to [[HeroicSacrifice the efforts of their families]], who order them to hurry back to the cave and escape.

Upon returning to the cave, Malt's intellectual friend Socks recognizes the tank-- named Taranis-- as an ancient weapon. The children, having no other options, reactivate and take control of Taranis to have a chance of finding and saving their loved ones, and experience its destructive power first-hand when it forces the Berman army to retreat. Continuing on their journey to rescue their families, they eventually encounter six other lost children in similar situations to them, recruiting them to the tank's crew and dedicating themselves to taking down the Berman Empire's scourge.

Aside from that, the player can explore the Taranis and spend time getting to know each of the children and watching them interact with one another, and can play side-missions that involve exploring ruins or dungeons for hidden treasures.

The game is set to come out on all major platforms on July 29th, 2021. The official website can be found [[https://www.cc2.co.jp/fuga/en/ here]], with supplementary content (such as the ''Comedies of Steel'' humor motion comics) [[https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLkryP5_y-sRcKsP2uaEMaiPfM84ScsWfb available on CC2's YouTube channel.]] An overview trailer for the game can be found [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CbjXMMH0JzI here.]]
