->''Unknown Entity Error\\\
Minecraft has detected an unknown presence in the world. It is advised that you DO NOT PASS THIS SCREEN. Ignoring this warning may result in strange occurrences and/or encounters. Remember, don't stare directly at the bugs.''
-->--Warning message upon creating a world.

''VideoGame/{{Minecraft}}: From The Fog'' is a GameMod based on the Herobrine {{Creepypasta}} that adds the ghostly entity into the game, with them occupying your world to build odd structures, stealing/replacing your torches, and stalk/haunt the player, giving the ominous feeling of truly not being alone in your single-player game.

Not to be confused with another ''Minecraft'' mod, ''The Man from the Fog''.
----
* AmbiguouslyEvil: Herobrine himself may undoubtedly be a creepy entity who at his worst effectively harasses the player, some of the cryptic signs he may leave the player seem to indicate that he's merely trying to get the player to leave and/or stop playing the game, the intent of which remains a mystery.
* TheBlank: One of the alternate skins that Herobrine may use is the default skin completely devoid of facial features.
* {{Jumpscare}}: If a player manages to come into close-contact with Herobrine outside of their field of vision, they'll find themselves with their perspective refocused onto Herobrine in a sudden and startling manner.
* NothingIsScarier: Herobrine is absent for the first three days in a new ''Minecraft'' world, with the only implication of his existence being randomly spawning structures and trees that have recently been chopped down[[note]]Specifically, the logs gone with the leaves slowly decaying, like a player harvested the tree recently[[/note]], all building up to the moment when he ''does'' decide to show up.
* OffscreenTeleportation: When stalking the player, Herobrine will often appear just outside of their vision in this manner, with it being at its most pronounced when this happens inside of either your base or an enclosed cavern.
* OurGhostsAreDifferent: Herobrine, per the {{Creepypasta}}, is allegedly the dead brother of Notch, and is depicted as the default "Steve" skin with [[GlowingEyesOfDoom glowing white eyes.]]
* ShoutOut: One alternate skin for Herobrine includes a gray hood variant, in reference to his portrayal in ''WebAnimation/FallenKingdom''.
* SlasherSmile: One alternate skin Herobrine may sport is their usual look, but with a wide grin encompassing one/fourth of the face.
* StalkerWithoutACrush: Once he becomes active, Herobrine will actively stalk the player -- whether it be watching close-by [[BehindTheBlack just out of the players view]] until spotted (with them immediately disappearing in view), from far in the distance (and fleeing from the player's radius), or directly in front of a sleeping player's bed.
* TruerToTheText: Unlike mods that turn them into an actively malicious monster who can cause griefing levels of damage, or other fan-works that depict him as a ghostly or godly deity in the context of the ''Minecraft'' world, this mod sticks closer to their {{Creepypasta}} depiction as a haunted entity that seems to exist in the world as another PlayerCharacter, who oftentimes stay out of the player's view in a [[StalkerWithoutACrush stalker manner.]]
