* TheBeastmaster: Ajay can ride elephants into battle. This is a VERY high step up from Far Cry 3, where every animal would either run away or bite you in the neck. Trailers also imply that Ajay can also tame birds, and confirms that some elite hunter enemies can turn birds against you. As for the Shangri-La episodes, the protagonist of that story can summon a giant spirit tiger to kill demons. Yes.

* PathOfInspiration: TWO of them. The first one seems like a traditional, long-standing religion that has led Kyrat into a natural flow between pacifism and zealotry. But as you progress through the game, you find unimportant yet disturbing clues about how the 'Golden Path' may be as fucked up and insanity-inducing as the [[spoiler: Rakyat's Path (these are the guys from the third game who let themselves be ruled by a madwoman)]]. The second one... is Pagan Min's Christianity-based divine right, which states that he is the rightful ruler of Kyrat despite being a tyrant with no blue blood, and anyone who questions this outside of the presence of the royal army will be ripped to shreds by demonic piranhas, which are LITERALLY bent to his will. "All Hail Pagan Min Or Die", like we haven't seen enough egomania from Handsome Jack and Comstock this decade.

* ItIsPronouncedTroPAY: Ajay Ghale, having grown up in America, pronounces his own name "AJ Gale". However, since his name is natively Kyrati, everyone else in the game, Pagan Min included, pronounces it "Ah-Jay Gah-Lay".

Pagan Min only personally killed one person in that cinematic.

* EverythingsBetterWithMonkeys: A monkey is seen in the bus during the intro. Considering Hurk's behaviour last time, this is to be expected.
* GoKartingWithBowser: A brief, modern variation of the trope occurs in the game's opening cinematic. After brutally murdering quite a few people, Pagan Min stops to take a selfie with Ajay.

The fourth game in the ''VideoGame/FarCry'' series (yet another SpiritualSuccessor to its predecessors), set in Kyrat, a fictional region in the Himalayas.

You play Ajay Ghale, a young man visiting Kyrat to scatter his mother's ashes. After a violent border crossing, Ajay meets Pagan Min, the flamboyant and insane self-proclaimed ruler of Kyrat. Violence ensues. So do selfies.

The game features a greater sense of verticality than its predecessors, with a grappling hook and miniature helicopters joining the wingsuit from the previous game as major methods of traversal.

Far Cry 4 also features drop-in drop-out co-op, with players on Playstation systems being able to join a friend's game for co-op freeroam without owning a copy.

Ubisoft are aiming for a November 2014 release window, with versions for the PS3, Xbox360, PS4, Xbox One and PC.

----
!!''Far Cry 4'' provides examples of the following tropes:

* AffablyEvil: Pagan Min seems to be very friendly towards Ajay. This is right after murdering a soldier in front of him and just before ''kidnapping'' him.
* CivilWar: The player is said to become embroiled in a civil war between the people and Pagan Min's despotic regime.
* EverythingsBetterWithMonkeys: A monkey is seen in the bus during the intro smoking a cigarette.
* HighSpeedHijack: A new ability is to leap from your vehicle and onto another, taking out the driver and commandeering their ride for yourself.
* MoreDakka: ''Far Cry 3'' featured a composite bow for silent ranged kills. ''Far Cry 4'' has an automatic crossbow instead.
* SceneryPorn: The mountains of Kyrat are ''breathtaking''.
* WarElephant: Kyrat features wild elephants. They can be manipulated into trampling enemies, attacking enemy fortresses or even be ridden by Ajay.
* YouHaveFailedMe: Pagan Min stabs one of the soldiers involved in the border crossing massacre.
