Not only is she never mentioned in any of the Cult's texts or journal entries, there's also no explanation as to what she is. Muddying the water even further is her inexplicable immunity to the crucifix's effects, as trying to attack her will simply result in her giving John a OneHitKill (and you the player a JumpScare).
