* CinderellaPlot: As might be expected, given the title. Once all of the requisite parable tokens are collected, it's revealed that Katherine and Cyrilla have been orphaned and left in the care of an EvilUncle who forces them to work as unpaid domestic servants.

* GottaCatchEmAll: In addition to the cursed objects and parable gems as in prior games, this game adds another extra challenge of finding the outfits for four dolls of previous Cinderellas, and then finding the dolls to dress them. Completing each will allow you to unlock the Cinderella Stories; these tell the {{backstory}} of each of the first four Cinderellas, including the one who married the Frog Prince. Unlike the cursed objects and parable gems, though, finding all the clothes is required to progress, as completing each doll gives you an item necessary for finishing the game.

* MistakenIdentity: The Godmother thinks that Cyrilla is the final Cinderella, but it's really her stepsister Katherine. [[spoiler: When Cyrilla is freed, she begs the Detective to save Katherine before fleeing to safety. This is explained in the bonus content stories: Cyrilla and Katherine's uncle found the magical dresses and shoes they were to wear to the ball and decided he wanted to sell them. However, the ladies were able to retrieve one of the dresses, which is the one Cyrilla was wearing. So that Katherine could also go to the ball, the two ladies designed and made a gown for her to wear; it's noticeably less fancy than Cyrilla's and Amelia would have recognized it wasn't her handiwork.]]

* The thirteenth game, '''[[http://www.bigfishgames.com/games/11717/dark-parables-requiem-for-forgotten-shadow-ce/ Requiem for the Forgotten Shadow]],''' brings the Detective to the ancient duchy of Anaben, at the foot of the Alps, where a strange plague has been assailing its residents. A cloaked figure uses a magic candle to steal people's shadows, leaving them ill and muttering nonsense. At the same time, a mysterious brotherhood is gathering with evil intent, and the detective needs to find out just how these facts are connected. The backstory of the game features "Literature/{{The Shadow|Fairy Tale}}," one of Creator/HansChristianAndersen's more obscure tales.

* MrFanservice: The men in the fairy tales who are introduced in this series each have some of this going on. Prince James in ''Exiled Prince'' and Prince Ross in ''Rapunzel'' are a couple of {{Hunk}}s, while Jack in ''Sky Kingdom'' bears a strong resemblance to Franchise/IndianaJones. Eric, in ''Queen of Sands,'' also turns out to be this by the end of the game, along with being a WalkingShirtlessScene. Kai and [[spoiler:Prince Gwyn]] in the bonus chapter of ''Rapunzel'' have both grown up to be very {{Pretty Boy}}s. ''Fallen Star'' and ''Tinderbox'' bring us the Moon Priest, [[spoiler:Hansel]], who arguably looks more like a storybook PrinceCharming than any other character yet introduced. ''Requiem'' gives us the Shadow God, who evokes EvilIsSexy.

* CreepyDoll: In a moment of genuine SurpriseCreepy, the catacombs contains some ArtificialHuman dolls, [[spoiler: prototypes of Serafina and Mercy,]] discarded because defective and too aggressive. One lies seemingly dead inside a coffin, only to come back to life and attack the Detective. The other is even creepier, as she first appears in a couple of JumpScare events behind a locked door... [[WhamShot only to appear on the treshold of the Crypt]] and make sporadic appearences around the place, stalking the Detective from the shadows. Luckily, both times you encounter them you will have access to the items which will allow you to overwhelm them.

* PscyhcoSupporter: The parables reveal that [[spoiler:Guida is this for the Shadow God; she believes he was betrayed by the three goddesses, and she's out for revenge on his behalf]].

* CharacterNameAndTheNounPhrase

* WhipItGood: The enchanted ribbons which restrain Leda's golden touch can be removed and used as weapons.

* OverprotectiveDad: Not wanting his daughter to marry into a mysterious kingdom with a lot of bad rumors, he claimed his daughter was disfigured and unfit for marriage. Too bad this turned out to be a grievous mistake.
