* CaneFu: Master Gouda's first attack is tossing his 285 kilogram cane at you. Getting hit by it is an instant kill. [[spoiler:This also applies to Master Gouda, who also jumps directly after throwing his cane at you, [[HoistByHisOwnPetard allowing you to punch the cane back into his face for an easy win]].]]

* FlunkyBoss: Yoshida, who has two {{Elite Mook}}s by his side in the first fight.

* OldMaster: Master Gouda, one of the hardest bosses to fight in the game.

* PowerCopy: Ito can do this upon completing a list of conditions during a boss fight. Yoshida inverts this: He gives people powers by complimenting them.

** Yoshida's stretchy form is a downplayed variant, though it's fairly realistic for a RubberMan. Ito's rubber form is also like this.

* RidiculouslyAverageGuy: What Yoshida apparently is to Ito, and it's even supported in Sorakomi Mine's other game ''Which is Yoshida?'' [[spoiler:Yoshida is ''far'' from normal, even by the game's standards.]]

* RubberMan: Yoshida, initially to his limbs, [[spoiler:though it reaches to the point where he can ''stretch his own head'']]. Of course, Ito, being the {{power cop|y}}ier that he is, can also do this (though, judging from the dialogue in both of Yoshida's fights, this may have been against his will).
* ShoutOut: An In-Universe variant: Ito describes Yoshida's group "Petit Ganon" as one to a famous anime: Take This, Fantasy![[note]]It's actually a real thing, [[https://sorakomi.com/non/kurae/fantasy.html?lang=en and its real name is "Take It! Fantasy"]]. Also, "Petit Ganon" is the ultimate magic spell.[[/note]]

* StormOfBlades: Master Gouda's special attack.

** Ito using the [[RubberMan Yoshida power]] briefly goes into this, as he can throw out long range attacks at a rapid rate.

A... ahem... "{{quirky|work}}" game by Sorakomi Mine. You play as a black stickfigure named "Ito" who gets his foot stuck one day and couldn't take it out. In the sequel, Ito's foot finally manages to break free from the ground. Ito now has to make the trek back home and meets several friends along the way (all of whom [[EverythingIsTryingToKillYou makes an attempt to kill Ito]]). In both games, Ito has to fight off against [[TitleDrop 285 enemies]].

** Tanaka has one where it inverts the GoldenSuperMode (he goes from golden to bronze).

* TheThemeparkVersion: Ito describes Edmond's domain as this.

* OnlySaneMan: Okada, who's increasingly becoming more desperate as Ito continues to forget more and more about who the former is, [[spoiler:even calling him an ant trying to steal deep fried bread.]]

* CreditsMontage: With a little bit of CreditsGag; The disclaimer notes: "[[{{Understatement}} It may be a little bit different from the actual game because of the characters' delusions and desires]]." The very first thing we see after that is ''Okada throwing a RocketPunch at Ito, blowing up a pagoda behind him''. Every slide after that shows increasingly ludicrous scenarios:
** An Ueno brother throwing multiple pieces of crumbled up tissue, with Ito [[BatterUp whipping a bat out and taking a stance]]
** Kondo freaking out at Bonta crashing the bathroom
** Sato looking proud in front of his statue (while Ito, who has managed to find himself on Statue Sato's head, [[OhCrap realizes he's about to fall and take the head with him]])
** Ito, along with the Ota Family, all enraged and with twigs poking out of them
** Ito throwing coke bottles as Edmond rapidly throws out Harite slaps
** Ito shooting a laser gun at Tanaka and his business partners
** Yoshida menacing Ito by stretching both his body and face, much to some woman's horror (it can be inferred that Ito's expression is more or less the same)
** Ito riding the waves while holding some necklaces as Master Gouda is on some clifftop, hoarding pots
** Ito and several Haniwa doing a LastSupperSteal
** And finally Ito choking and dying after taking a bite of spoiled deep fried bread

* PuttingThePalInPrincipal: Ito describes Principal Sato as such, also calling him "Mr. Sato who lives in three buildings away from my house."

* RecurringBoss: Okada.

* VerbalTic: Edmond has a tendency to finish his sentences with the phrase "gowasu" (which hints at him being from [[UsefulNotes/JapaneseDialects the Kyushu region, particularly in Kagoshima]], which has "gowasu" as a copula). He can also utilize said phrase as individual syllables (As in "GO", "WA", and "SU" are all individual projectiles) as weaponry.

* ActionizedSequel: The original game completely lacks the intense {{Boss Battle}}s, the different backgrounds, and the much, ''much'' freer movement options. That last one is justified; Ito had gotten his foot stuck.

* HarshWordImpact:
** Weaponized by Kondo, Ito's English teacher. FORWARD explodes into letters contained in balls in a forward direction, BACK is similar to FORWARD but it's in a backward direction, BOMB is similar to the others but it's either up or down, WALL creates a wall upon exploding, and RETURN is the only attack that doesn't explode, only return.
** Edmond has a syllable variant of this: "GO", "WA", and "SU" are all individual syllables that he summons to attack you.

* OneSidedRivalry: Ito and Okada. Ito doesn't even know who Okada is, calling him "Green Guy" and generally forgetting his existence. [[spoiler:It comes to the point where Ito eventually calls Okada an ant trying to take his deep fried bread.]]

* HumanAliens: Tanaka. His "Business Partners" take on the form of {{flying saucer}}s [[spoilers: and jellyfish in the credits]].
