* AlternateContinuity: The game loosely adapts the events of Season 4 similarly to how the first game adapted Season 2, as well as ignoring the first game's ending, which deviated significantly from the show. Ultimately the winner of the All Valley Tournament is determined by the player, though the events of the game will differ from the series regardless.

* AdaptationalKarma: In the show, Doug Rickenberger was a KarmaHoudini for assaulting a teacher in the West Valley High School brawl and taking part in Cobra Kai's invasion of the [=LaRusso's=] house, being given only a two-week suspension like the other participants for the former and quitting Cobra Kai shortly after the latter. In the game, he ends up in juvie doing community service for his actions in the school fight.

* CharacterExaggeration: Several minor characters who act as mini-bosses have their most memorable moment or personality trait from the series expanded to the point of being their entire character.
** Edwin's most notable moment in the show is when he shows himself to be a skilled hip-hop dancer at Moon's party in Season 2. In this game, almost every line he speaks is about dancing.
** In Season 4, Nate calls Robby a traitor for leaving Miyagi-Do when the dojos square off at the drive-in theatre, though he forgives him pretty easily when he returns in Season 5. In the game, he can't even be recruited for your dojo if Robby is already a member, and he avoids calling him by his name in favor of referring to him as "the traitor."

!!Tropes:
* AdaptationalBadass: Just as in the first game, players can use SupernaturalMartialArts to manipulate fire, ice, or, in a new addition, lightning, which none of the characters in the series are capable of doing.
* AdaptationalJerkass: Occurs frequently due to VideoGameCrueltyPotential.
** In the series, Daniel quite adamantly WouldNotHurtAChild, even if said child is a complete AssholeVictim and actively provoking him. Here, he can be made to enter the high school in the middle of the day and attack a bunch of teenagers with little provocation just to recruit new karate students.
** Lampshaded when Daniel teaches the player ground attacks. Attacking a downed opponent is something Daniel would not approve of in the show, and he even sounds a bit uneasy about the idea before going ahead and teaching you anyway.
* SupernaturalMartialArts: This ability returns from the first game. Miyagi-Do students can still conjure ice, while the ability to summon fire has shifted from Cobra Kai to Eagle Fang, since the fire motif was more closely associated with Johnny. Cobra Kai replaces this with the new ability to use lightning.
