In ''Camping'', players can go camp out in [[IDontLikeTheSoundOfThatPlace Specky]] Woods, explore the forest, tell stories by the campfire, and have a good time!

''Camping'' and its next entries in the series are notable for [[FollowTheLeader starting the 2019 trend of story games on Roblox]], having a OneWordTitle, simplistic vector logo, a seemingly innocent and casual premise, and of course, [[SurpriseCreepy the sudden turn and twist]] [[CrapsaccharineWorld for the paranormal macabre]].

* SurpriseCreepy: ''The standard''. Starts off with a fun premise of camping, staying at a hotel, or being invited to a dinner party at the mansion, but then the Nightmare or Murderer attacks. [[FromBadToWorse Things get worse from there]].

* AnArmAndALeg: [[spoiler:On the third day, you find the Monster's leg trapped, ripped off, and bleeding by a BearTrap. The Monster later appears with only one leg.]]
* BigBad: The Monster in the first game.
** [[spoiler:Zach Nolan turns out to be]] one of the whole ''series''. He is the one who started the whole chaos, [[spoiler:creating the MechanicalAbomination who swept up Gloomo Hotel and murdering the Family of 5, whom the SoleSurivor turns into a Monster as vengeance.]]

* GreaterScopeVillain: [[spoiler:[[TheyLookJustLikeEveryoneElse One of the campers]], having laced one of the picnic sandwiches with rat poison. They're the reason the Monster targeted the campers.]]

* HumanoidAbomination: The Monster. His form is similar of that of a Robloxian, yet is pitch black and has a disturbingly realistic NightmareFace. [[spoiler:He is somehow able to kidnap others unexpectedly and fill up the forest with poisonous fog.]]

*** Should at least 2 or more campers survive to the end, [[spoiler:the Monster reveals that it was actually protecting them from the actual murderer, who is revealed to be one of the campers.]]
*** Should only one camper survive, [[spoiler:the Monster [[KarmicDeath kills the camper who was planning to kill the rest of the campers, but the damage has been done]]]].
*** The secret ending obtained by [[spoiler:throwing the lucky coin into the well. A boy in a white shirt appears facing away from the camera, but slowly turns his head around, [[WasOnceAMan revealing him to be the Monster]]. It's implied that he was the SoleSurvivor of the murders.]]

*** Alternatively, should the campers decide to [[spoiler:spare Daniel, he'll help the campers escape from Zach Nolan. At the end of the obby, Daniel recognizes Zach Nolan as the Murderer of a Family of 5 at Specky Woods. However, before Zach proceeds to murder the campers, the Monster, who was revealed to be the Son of the Family, saves them by [[OffWithHisHead decapitating Zach Nolan]]. The Monster declares himself to be free afterwards, and passes on. GoldenEnding. [[CuttingOffTheBranches This also happens to be the canonical ending]].]]

* NeverBeHurtAgain: [[spoiler:The Monster, after those murders happened, never wanted another murder in Specky Woods, pointing out [[TheyLookJustLikeEveryoneElse one of the campers has murderous intentions]].]]
* PlotHole: [[spoiler:The Monster claims that he was trying to save the other campers, which brings to question why he kidnapped one of them.]]
* SurpriseCreepy: ''The standard''. Starts off with a fun premise of camping, staying at a hotel, or being invited to a dinner party at the mansion, but then the Monster or Murderer attacks. [[FromBadToWorse Things get worse from there]].
* TheyLookJustLikeEveryoneElse: [[spoiler:A random camper, despite looking like an ordinary non-suspicious Robloxian, turns out to be the murderer the Monster was looking for, poisoning a sandwich of the picnic basket and killing the other campers without qualms.]]

* WasOnceAMan: The secret ending reveals [[spoiler:the Monster was once a little human boy. It all starts when his face changes into the Monster's, perhaps ready for a RoaringRampageOfRevenge.]]
* WeakenedByTheLight: [[spoiler:In the normal ending, the Monster is stunned by the rising sun and unable to move. The reason the Monster only appears at night.]]
* WellIntentionedExtremist: [[spoiler:The Monster just wanted to protect the campers and was only attacking the campers just to go after the murderer, [[TheyLookJustLikeEveryoneElse which is revealed to be one of the campers]].]]
* WoobieDestroyerOfWorlds: [[spoiler:The Monster, aka the Son. After going through hell with surviving the murder of his family, he has turned into the Monster and [[NeverBeHurtAgain is willing to prevent another murder]] in Specky Woods and Terra Park, [[WellIntentionedExtremist even if it go overboard]].]]

* EldritchAbomination: The Monster. A tall, bipedal, all-black, somewhat frog-like creature with [[RedEyesTakeWarning red eyes]], bloody mouth, sharp claws, and [[spoiler:the ability to release poisonous fog and shoot red orbs. ''Mansion'' reveals the Monster to be a MechanicalAbomination.]]

* SequelDifficultyDrop: ''Mansion'' is somewhat easier than the previous entries, lacking {{Luck Based Mission}}s, having a predictable obby, and EasyLevelTrick[[note]]stand on the door handle[[/note]] for the spider segment. Only the last segment, the Library Maze, is a screwup.

* HellHotel: Takes place at the Gloomo Hotel, where you are continuously ambushed by an EldritchAbomination and [[spoiler:find a secret cursed underground floor where the murdered corpse of the receptionist lays]].

* AscendToAHigherPlaneOfExistence: [[spoiler:{{Implied}} in the Good Ending when the Son disappears after killing off Zach Nolan. His vengeance for the murder of his Family is done, thus he can peacefully pass on into the afterlife to join his Family.]]

* OffWithHisHead: If you manage to be the SoleSurvivor by the end, [[spoiler:the Monster, [[KarmicDeath easily assuming you're the murderer]], takes a quick slash at your head]].
