''Call of Duty: Finest Hour'' is a 2004 First-Person Shooter video game and a SpinOff of the ''VideoGame/CallOfDuty'' series developed by the now-defunct Spark Unlimited and released on UsefulNotes/GameCube, UsefulNotes/PlayStation2 and the original UsefulNotes/{{Xbox}}. The game is neither a reimagining or a remake of the original game but an attempt to the bring the cinematic ''Call of Duty'' experience to consoles of the time, and unlike its inspiration, the game featured third-person cutscenes and more emphasis on characterization.

* SpiritualSuccessor: The game was developed by a different set of ''VideoGame/MedalOfHonor'' alumni than the first ''Call of Duty''[[labelnote:Specifically...]]While Infinity Ward was founded by developers of ''VideoGame/MedalOfHonorAlliedAssault'', Spark Unlimited was co-founded by Scott Langteau, a producer on the early console installments of ''[=MoH=]'', who poached staff from ''VideoGame/MedalOfHonorFrontline''.[[/labelnote]], and this heritage is obvious with things like the drawn-out, over-the-top death animations, the presence of goofy elaborate EasterEggs and the ending credits featuring veteran interviews and behind-the-scenes clips.

Added DiffLines:

* ArtisticLicenseGeography: Badanov refers to Stalingrad throughout the Soviet campaign as "Volgograd", the modern-day name of the city. If this is meant to play at his OldSoldier status, then he should at least be calling it Tsaritsyn - the original name of the city before Stalin renamed it after himself in 1925.

Added DiffLines:

* OffscreenMomentOfAwesome: Walker makes mention of his participation in the invasions of North Africa, Sicily, and the Battle of the Bulge, but his campaign is solely focused on the final stretch of battles leading into Germany.
