* MutilationInterrogation: [[InvertedTrope Inverted]] with Dealey, who threatens to keep chopping away at Sol's (unconscious) body until he delivers the software. Sol gets around this impediment by switching bodies altogether.

* NeverBringAKnifeToAGunFight: [[SubvertedTrope Subverted]] in NAMO's backstory: Whenever an undercover agent is found within their ranks, they give him a pistol and [[MercyLead an hour's lead]] to run away. Once it's elapsed, a cadre of ladies with short-bladed knives are sent out after him. According to Sol, not ''one'' of those agents survived with their [[FlayingAlive scalp attached]].

* FirstLawOfGenderBending: Sol Cutter's original body is pretty much unusable now, so he's [[CursedWithAwesome stuck with the good-looking, athletic body]]. Initially, Cutter isn't upset about being in a female body, but that it's one that Vielli uses for rather perverse reasons.

* FantasticDrug: Zip loves to trip out on electronic "Rushes", to the point that you have to talk to him in the Televerse to get his attention in the real world.

** Cutter's nemesis mentions he [[AttractiveBentGender looks better now]].
** FirstLawOfGenderBending: Sol Cutter's original body is pretty much unusable now, so he's [[CursedWithAwesome stuck with the good-looking, athletic body]]. Cutter doesn't have a lot of complaints either, for what it's worth.

* TimeBomb: You begin the game carrying a small Russian bomb with an adjustable timer. You have to use it to blast open a gate and escape the starting area.

You play [[LukeNounverber Sol Cutter]], a small-time thief who ferries stolen data [[NeuralImplanting inside of his brain]] (à la ''JohnnyMnemonic''). While he's robbing Softech Industries, a deadly ComputerVirus known as [[TitleDrop Burn:Cycle]] is downloaded into Sol's mind. It's dormant now, but if Sol doesn't get that virus out of his head within [[TimeBomb two hours]], his brain is yogurt. This countdown occurs in real time, essentially boiling down the game to one big TimedMission, but there are enough [[SavePoint save]] opportunities to see gamers through.

* BareYourMidriff: Kris's outfit in the Televerse.
** After Sol's brain gets transferred into a woman, he wakes up in a spandex outfit with a navel-baring window.

* KillEmAll: [[spoiler:Only Sol and Vielli survive the game... and technically speaking, Vielli's already dead!]]

* ImmortalityImmorality: Vielli's aim is to preserve the minds of Earth's greatest thinkers by downloading their brains into the televerse, whereupon they can BodySurf between artificial bodies in perpetuity. Softech seeks to sell his technology to the highest bidder.

* JokeItem: A porno mag. (''Wet When Slippery'')

* LosingYourHead: Sol's last task is to smuggle away Vielli's severed head, which contains the information Softech is seeking.

* RoboSpeak: ASCII talk this way.

* YearInsideHourOutside: With Sol uploaded into the Televerse, Doc explains that an hour in there is 3 seconds in the real world.

* HairDecorations: Gala wears red feathers in her hair. If it's not cute, it certainly looks badass.

* ManInWhite: Vielli.
