** Though not short on genuinely tanky units, Mordor as a whole tends to fill this role. It can pump out hordes of orcs, wipe out whole groups of enemies trivially, and bring down enemy buildings very easily with either trolls or powerful siege. However, it has the worst static defense in the game, with its only defensive structure outside of its fortress being battle towers that cannot be garrisoned, its on-demand healing is so rare as to be nonexistent, and a number of its troops have glaring weaknesses. Mordor is an absolute monster on offense, but if it gets forced on the back foot, it can often crumble very quickly.

* SupernaturalFearInducer: Fear-based powers are quite common, particularly among evil factions. Aside from debuff effects that are described as intimidation in lore, it mostly refers to an effect that causes standard units to either stand in place cowering, or scatter in all directions away from the source. Mordor is notably fond of it, with the Nazgûl and Fell Beast's Screech, the Catapult's Launch Skulls, the Witch-King's Chill of Angmar, the Drummer Troll's Roar, the Great Beast's Beast of War, and the fortress's Gate Watchers all being fear or terror-based. Sauron himself takes it a step further, as his mere ''presence'' causes all nearby troops, friend or foe, to start cowering.
