* DavidVersusGoliath: It goes without saying when the hero, Sci-Vax is roughly larger than a human man, while the bosses can take up more than half of the screen ''without'' moving.

* HornAttack: Grounatos is a horned mutant abomination, and while it's rooted on a fiXed spot like several others, it can actually launch it's horn at you as a projectile attack! Said horn re-attaches itself automatically after being fired. And yes, [[AimForTheHorn the horn gets blasted to pieces once Grounatos is killed]].

''Act-Fancer: Cybernetick Hyper Weapon'' is a 1989 arcade RunAndGun action game developed by Creator/DataEast, the same guys behind ''VideoGame/AtomicRunnerChelnov'' a year ago, with a similar gameplay format.

An infestation of alien bugs broke out in a human city, after a military transport plane containing alien cargo has an unexpected crash-landing. It's contents leaks into urbanized areas, spreading and multiplying at rapid pace; being capable of parasitizing life-forms turning human victims into grotesque insectoid mutants, soon enough it gets out of control

With most of planet earth in ruins, a cybernetically-enhanced human soldier, codenamed Sci-Vax, immune to the alien virus, is sent to earth to contain the outbreak.

!! ''Act-Fancer: Cybernetick Hyper Weapon'' on the move!
* AbsurdlySpaciousSewer: The final stage where you confront Geagalze is set in one. Try not to fall in the water - you'll lose a life on the spot.
* AfterTheEnd: The game is set after earth has been taken over by insectoid alien monsters, with much of earth's cities in ruins.
* AllThereInTheManual: The game's backstory is expanded in supplementary materials. Within the game itself, the opening FMV shows your character, Sci-Vax, being constructed, and then throws you into the action rightaway without explaining why is earth an alien-filled hellhole.
* AttackItsWeakPoint: All the bosses are large enough to take up nearly half a screen, and have a specific weak spot you must shoot at to inflict damage - targeting anywhere else will have your projectile flying past. Luckily the game will give you a hint via CrosshairAware.
* BugWar: The very premise of the game.
* ChestBlaster: Unusually for a game of it's type, your default weapon is fired from your chest.
* {{Cyborg}}:
** You play as Sci-Vax, a cyborg who's tasked with wiping out alien creatures infesting the earth.
** The FinalBoss, Geagalze, who's the core of the infestation, turns out to have merged the ship transporting it into itself, making it's body equally organic and mechanical.
* DetachmentCombat: There's a giant, floating, deformed insectoid head monster that is one of the few bosses in the game which ''isn't'' stationary. This monster can detach itself from the jawline and attack as two separate entities, and rejoin itself later on.
* GiantSpider: Several of the bug-like monsters have an arachnid appearance, and one of them serves as a boss. It drops from an alcove above you via a thread, ascending and descending into the area regularly to attack you as you try fending off two insectoid claws on either side.
* TheGreatSerpent: Feurer, a titan-sized serpent bound around a statue serves as a mid-boss in the first level. You can only damage it by targeting it's head.
* MeatMoss: All over the place, from the city to underground caverns, where the walls in the background are coated with a flesh-like texture after the infestation.
* OrganicTechnology: The bosses resemble organic forms in nature, having fleshy alien designs on them, but they're capable of launching assorted projectile attacks on you.
* SandWorm: Shows up in the underground stages, as pale, worm-like heads that ejects a long claw-tipped tongue from their mouths to attack.
* SpreadShot: One that isn't forward-facing, but is instead fired in an arc above you, so you can target airborne enemies while attacking mooks in front.
* SpringJump: Thanks to your cybernetics, you can jump in mid-air and hit the ceiling in order to avoid ground attacks from bosses.
* StationaryBoss: Most of the bosses, being monstrous abominations rooted to their spots at one side of the screen, relies on their projectiles or tentacles, but are otherwise unable to move or dodge your attacks.
* XenomorphXerox: The backstory of aliens being used as bio-weapons by some covert MegaCorp which backfires when an outbreak inevitably happens in an urbanized zone is clearly inspired by the ''Alien'' series. Also Geagalze, the FinalBoss, sprouts a Xeno-like head and rib designs resembling the classic Xenos, though it spits fireballs instead of acid. Subverted when you defeat it, leading to a RoboticReveal where Geagalze's interiors turns out to be mechanical, and it will continue fighting in this form.
