In terms of politics and culture, Minnesota is a very progressive state with the majority of voters voting for Democratic candidates. It was the only state that did not vote for Ronald Reagan in 1984,The main reason being that Mondale was from Minnesota. and the last time it voted for a Republican was in 1972.when Nixon was the candidate and the Republican Party was a lot more progressive than it is today. Minnesota is known for being more accepting of minority cultures, although racism and bigotry still exist in some places and the wealthier areas are mostly white. Despite this, diversity is growing in certain places like St. Cloud, Willmar, and Worthington. Across the state there are thriving Native American, Hispanic, and Hmong communities, and Minnesota boasts the largest Somali-American population. Minnesotans are also more accepting of LGBT people with support groups and medical centers for trans people at the University of Minnesota.

In terms of politics and culture, Minnesota is a very liberal state with the majority of voters voting for democratic candidates. This caused Minnesota to be the only state that did not have a majority vote for Ronald Reagan in 1984. Minnesota is known for being one of the more accepting states of minority culture, though this does not eliminate racism and bigotry, and the wealthier neighborhoods are mostly white. Despite this, diversity is growing in certain areas of the state, most notably the colleges. Speaking of diversity, Minnesota is home to the largest American-Somali population, which makes other Minnesotans less vulnerable to Islamophobia due to most Somali Americans being Muslim.

Minnesota's sports teams are notable for having names that relate to something connected to Minnesota. The Baseball Team, The Twins are named for the Twin Cities, the Football Team, The Vikings was given that name due to a large number of Swedish- and Norwegian-Americans living in the state, the Basketball Team, the Timberwolves is called that because of the states wolf population, the Hockey Team, the Wild is named as such because of the state's vast wilderness.

Minnesota is a northern state in the Mid-Western region in America. It boarders Wisconsin to the East, Iowa to the South, North and South Dakota to the West, and Canada to the North. Often called "The Land of 10,000 lakes", the state is home to 15,291 lakes, which formed due to glaciers melting at the end of the Ice Age.

The state was founded in 1858 and was the 32nd state to join the United States and got it's name from the Dakota word "Mnisota" which means "clear blue water". Other notable places and landmarks also have named derived from Dakota words for rivers or water such as "Minehaha" for "laughing water", "Mineiska" for "white water", "Mineota" for "much water", "Minnetonka" for "big water", and "Minnetrista" for "crooked water". The state soon became a popular immigration location for Norwegians and Scandinavians.

Most of the states people, called Minnesotans live in the UsefulNotes/Twin Cities district, which is the state's only major hub. The twin cities themselves are St. Paul and Minneapolis. St. Paul is the state capital, but is the smaller city. Minneapolis is larger and is home to the University of Minnesota. The most famous landmark of the Twin Cities is the Mall of America, the largest shopping mall in America. Another famous attraction is the Twine Ball of Darwin, the worlds largest ball of twine. Outside of the Twin Cities, apart from farmland, small towns, the Angle Township and the small city of Duluth however, it's all wilderness.

Minnesota is famous for it's vast amount of wilderness, with plains and deciduous forests in the southeast and coniferous forests in the north. These large amounts of wilderness gives Minnesota the distinct honor of being home to the largest Grey Wolf population in the lower 48 states. Other notable wild animals include raccoons, foxes, beavers, otters, coyote's, fishers, bald eagles, puma's, black bears, lynx, deer, loons, (The state bird) and even the endangered prairie chicken.
