As such, he remained celibate for life by imprisoning his sister-wife Daena and his sisters Rhaena and Elaena to resist temptation. This caused so many problems that his refusal to touch his wife left him without heirs, bringing the worse people into the line of succession, and eventually causing a huge civil war in the long run that saw hostilities that lasted for more than half a century (the Blackfyre Rebellions).
