Foreign movies were already banned in North Korea

* BannedInChina: Banned in North Korea. Other countries also apparently refused to show the movie in theaters, although distribution through other means could be possible. This movie in turn has made North Korea start banning ALL foreign movies and TV shows. Even any works of fiction from their traditional, political allies Russia and People's Republic of China have also been banned. Russia also backed North Korea's vocal opposition to the film.

Added DiffLines:

* CompletelyDifferentTitle: In Vietnam, the film is ''unofficially'' titled ''[[ExactlyWhatItSaysOnTheTin Assassinating Kim Jong-un]]''. Notice the word "unofficially"; this is because Vietnam is also one of North Korea's allies, [[NoExportForYou therefore no film distributors in Vietnam would have the balls to release it]].

* ContentLeak: Ironically enough, the scene where [[spoiler:Kim Jong-un dies in a helicopter explosion]] was initially the only thing about the film that got out when the movie's theatrical release was pulled.

* NoExportForYou: The film was not released in Japan due to both Sony's Japanese matrix dissaproving the film and the already mentioned ExecutiveMeddling and also because Japan's own geopolitical position could make the country an easy target for North Korea.[[note]]Not to mention the risk of both pissing off the North Korean population living in Japan and also risking any deal Japan has right now with the North Korean regime, especially regarding the case of the [[http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/North_Korean_abductions_of_Japanese_citizens Japanese nationals kidnapped by North Korean agents]].[[/note]]

** North Korea particularly objected to the ending scene where [[spoiler:Kim Jong-un dies in a fiery explosion]]. Naturally, this was the first scene of the movie (outside of trailer footage) to be leaked on the internet.

Trivia cannot be played with.

* NoExportForYou: Averted. The film is available on Netflix in Canada, and possibly other countries as well, but played straight in Japan, due to both Sony's Japanese matrix dissaproving the film and the already mentioned ExecutiveMeddling and also because Japan's own geopolitical position could make the country an easy target for North Korea.[[note]]Not to mention the risk of both pissing off the North Korean population living in Japan and also risking any deal Japan has right now with the North Korean regime, especially regarding the case of the [[http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/North_Korean_abductions_of_Japanese_citizens Japanese nationals kidnapped by North Korean agents]].[[/note]]

The Cameo is not marked as a Trivia trope

* TheCameo: A blink-and-you-miss-it one from Creator/SongKangHo as a DMZ soldier watching the interview. [[TheVoiceless He doesn't talk]], so it's easy to miss.
