The original script involved Riddick fighting the Hammerheaded Creatures in the underground of a city called "New Morocco" for entertainment. He is captured by a Merc named 'Big Foe' (who turns out, in the third act, to be Jack from ''Pitch Black'') and brought back to the planet only to find that the creatures were sentient and wanted revenge on Riddick as dictated by the GodOfEvil they worshipped. Akiva Goldsman's script was about Riddick and Kyra (Jack) hijacking a prison satellite and landing it on a living planet, which launched various creatures made from elements such as air, fire, wind and water at them to try and stop them before trying to kill them with a giant storm.
** In addition, the sequel we got could've been directed by Creator/GuillermoDelToro or Creator/DavidCronenberg, with rumors of Creator/AlexProyas, Creator/JohnLandis and Creator/PeterJackson. Whether or not these sequels would have been better depends on whom you ask.

Two noteworthy examples are given: During filming, he didn't realize the camera was rolling during one take, and when a dead body is tossed in front of him, he looks directly at the camera and tosses off a BondOneLiner. Another time, during a party, one of the cast or crew members makes some mention that he's never seen one Shakespeare play or another, whereupon Colm gets up and performs a 5 minute rendition of the play form beginning to end, playing multiple roles simultaneously.

** David Hayter wrote a prequel about Riddick, called "Riddick: Pitch Black II", involving Riddick growing up and being drafted into a "Wailing War" on a hollow, nest-like moon against ghost-like creatures (something like the original creatures of "PitchBlack") with Johns, where he'd get blamed for his entire platoon's death (By Johns, whose callousness was actually to blame). This would result in the huge payday on his head and hence the mercs coming after him (each one dispatched added to his list of "serial killings") before he ended up in "Moloch" prison with Johns (Where he got his Eyeshine). After this they'd help each other escape and go their seperate ways, before Johns hunted Riddick down on a Swamp Planet called "Conga" (Johns mentions catching flu in the Conga System in PitchBlack), where Riddick would give him the scar in the back, resulting in his morphine addiction. Riddick's lifestyle results in many lost loves and lost friends that rendered him the cold, heartless monster he was at the beginning of Pitch Black.
