* IKnewIt: There were ''many'' fan theories that were confirmed in this episode:
** A few people wondered if Lapis would reform with pants or shorts instead of a skirt. She did.
** "Rainbow Quartz 2.0" was a popular FanNickname for a hypothetical Steven and Pearl fusion. When they finally debut, they call themself exactly that.
** A number of fan art depicted Rainbow Quartz having an umbrella as their Gem weapon, which is indeed what Rainbow Quartz 2.0 has.
** People have wondered for a long time if the Crystal Temple, with its prominently placed gemstones and the name "Obsidian Temple" in the concept drawings, represented a hypothetical fusion of all four main Crystal Gems. It ''is'', and they're named Obsidian, and their hair, which was in Rose-like coils on the Temple when she was a component of the fusion, is now a massive version of Steven's natural fluff.
** After Steven wondered what would happen to him if his gem was removed in "Bubbled" and Pearl contemplated doing it in the "Three Gems and a Baby" flashback, many people predicted that someone would try to do that or even successfully do it later on. Some people also theorized that Steven's gem could somehow be removed without him dying instantly. While they were right with both, what they ''couldn't'' predict was what would happen when it was removed.
** Fanart commonly portrayed de-corrupted Gems as [[NotQuiteBackToNormal maintaining some traits from their corrupted form]], such as discolouration, horns, etc. This wound up being exactly what happens, exemplified in Jasper maintaining green spots and horns from her corrupted form.
** A number of people predicted that White Diamond would use her powers to mind control the other Diamonds or the Crystal Gems. She controls all of them in this episode.
** While it had become fairly obvious by this point, the episode finally demonstrates that the Diamonds' ships are indeed components of a CombiningMecha.
** White Pearl is indeed the former Pink Pearl, turned into a mindless puppet for White Diamond as a punishment for befriending Pink Diamond.
** A couple fans figured Peridot would use her metal powers to ride a disc-like object like a hoverboard (ala, ''WesternAnimation/StaticShock''). She does so here when emerging from Blue Diamond's ship, having gotten her hands on a trash can lid.

* {{Jossed}}: There were also ''many'' fan theories that were ''dis''confirmed in this episode:
** Some fans speculated that the reason that Blue and Yellow Diamond were crashing out of the building in the promo was because White Diamond controlled Yellow into attacking Blue, or they were being blown out by an explosion. It turned out that the two were actually fighting each other.
** Many speculated that Yellow and Blue Diamond would Fuse into the theoretical "Green Diamond", intentionally or not, to fight White Diamond. They don't. The same as above goes for a theoretical Lapis + Peridot Fusion.
** Fans were worried that Steven would lose one of his eyes thanks to White Diamond, due to eye damage and/or covering being a motif throughout the series. Thankfully, it doesn't happen.
** It was a common assumption that, if Steven's gem is removed from his body, Rose Quartz/Pink Diamond would reform from his gem. White Diamond clearly believed this as well. When Steven's gem is removed, it reforms as Pink Steven, confirming that his mother is truly gone.
** Quite a few fans were expecting Steven and Connie to have TheBigDamnKiss.
** A number of fans expected that White Diamond would prove impervious to Steven's "solve problems by communicating your feelings" approach. It was more difficult than usual, but Steven still talked her into a HeelFaceTurn.
** The following White Diamond theories that had popped up since [[Recap/StevenUniverseS5E24LegsFromHereToHomeworld "Legs From Here to Homeworld"]] that were ''all'' proven to be false in this episode:
*** White Diamond is blind.
*** White Diamond is Corrupting/a Corrupted Gem/was hit by the Corrupting Light via a recoil from Rose's shield.
*** White Diamond is powering all of Homeworld/sucking energy from Homeworld thanks to the supposed "wires" connected to her.
*** White Diamond took over White Pearl's corpse.
*** White Diamond is dying and trying to keep it a secret.
*** White Diamond is going to try and trick Steven into taking her place, à la Atlas.
*** White Diamond isn't who we saw, that was a hologram/robot, and the real White Diamond is even smaller than Peridot.
*** White Pearl is actually the one behind the scenes ''à la Literature/TheWizardOfOz''.
*** White Diamond has her own version of Rose's Room, and it's the area where the ships landed/all of Homeworld/the whole universe.
*** White Diamond is physically incapable of leaving Homeworld and/or even moving her limbs at all.
*** Steven would possess White Diamond/White Diamond would possess Steven, and Connie would have to snap him out of it.
** After Smoky Quartz's debut, fanart often depicted Steven's fusions with the other Gems as also having uneven numbers of body parts, most notably the fanon versions of Rainbow Quartz 2.0, who usually had three eyes. When they finally made their debut in this episode, they were shown to have four.

* DevelopmentGag: A few from the Pilot;
** Steven's comeback to White Diamond saying he's just Pink acting like a child: "I ''am'' a child... what's your excuse?" This effectively ends the conflict of the special, as it flusters White and releases everyone from her control. However, it's also highly reminiscent of his line, "I can't help it... what's your excuse?" from the unaired pilot when Garnet asks Steven, "Why are you such a buttface?" and [[ItMakesSenseInContext Steven needs to make a decent comeback in order to save the day.]]
** The pilot also featured a flying electric skull monster styled after the iconic candy skulls of the Mexican Day of the Dead. In this episode, one of the briefly seen uncorrupted Gems has the same facial coloration and hair.
