** Episode 3 was originally planned to have a much different ending, involving Cooter's being bought out by the {{Yakuza}}. It was re-written after everyone agreed it was too much of a DownerEnding.

* RealitySubtext: The real-life closure of Cooters Restaurant & Bar is the primary focus of episode 3. This was the culmination of a decade-long inside joke with the creators of the series, dating back to a late-2000s Skype group chat, where Dayo would read out the absurd food names on the menu in a funny voice; the gag was incorporated into the episode itself with Dayo playing the Cooters Waitress.

* WagTheDirector: Char, one of the animators, kept tormenting the "creative fellow", Robby, during the development of episode 5 by coming up with a character named "[[Manga/OnePiece Lesbian Roronoa Zoro]]" and continuing to put her in shots even after Robby refused to use her. Originally, Lesbian Zoro was literally just a jpeg of Zoro's key art with a lesbian flag pasted on top of her shirt; eventually she became a cameo character in the Afterschool Blades Club, and then made cameos in other parts of the episode, with Char's response to every rejection being "but it would be funny though".
* WhatCouldHaveBeen:
** When the crew was deciding how to handle the credits in episode 2, they initially considered reusing the animation from the first episode, but Meeks (one of the animators) wanted to have Raven and Slash sing "[=ChuChu Lovely=]" by Maximum the Hormone. The crew decided against this, but liked the idea of having different songs and characters in each episode. They thought about using "My Own Worst Enemy" by Lit, but eventually settled on the ending theme from ''VideoGame/SpaceChannel5 Part 2''. They were eventually able to use "[=ChuChu Lovely=]" as the credits song of episode 5.
** The Extracurricular Cryptid Club in episode 4 was supposed to include two other students besides Wolf Girl, namely a [[FearsomeCrittersOfAmericanFolklore jackalope]] and TheJerseyDevil. They were cut to streamline the fight scene. The Jersey Devil student eventually made an appearance in episode 5.
** One of the students designed for the fight montage in episode 4 was cut, and their spot was replaced by Paul Phoenix.
** The credits song for episode 4 was debated among the crew for a while; "Ring My Bell" was the initial candidate, but they eventually decided upon "Relight My Fire". They considered "Ring My Bell" again for episode 5, since the episode is about Berrycream's bell, but they decided not to because they didn't want two disco songs in a row.

* CreatorsPest: During the development of episode 5, the entire crew got distracted by the idea of a new character called the Walking Talking Man, and got upset whenever Robby (the "creative fellow") tried to get them back on track. He eventually relented, and created a post-credits scene for episode 5 where Strawberry loses the talent show to the Walking Talking Man. However, the ending rendered incorrectly, causing the audio to cut out. After the fact, Robby declared that the Walking Talking Man is his least favorite character, blaming him for nearly destroying the show and saying that [[BusCrash he will never appear again because he died off-screen.]]

* DoingItForTheArt: The creators of the series have mentioned that it started largely as a joke, but they began to put in more "serious" art and story elements over time, until they stepped back and realized that they'd made a ''real'' show. They've also expressed a desire not to monetize the series, leaving any merchandise up to the personal choice of the artists involved.
