* CreatorsFavorite: [[http://www.adventuresinpoortaste.com/2019/04/09/jonathan-hickman-reveals-his-favorite-mutants-ahead-of-house-of-x-and-power-of-x/ According to Hickman's Twitter]], his top five favorite mutants are Magneto, Emma Frost, Mr. Sinister, Monet, and a tie between Sunspot and Cannonball. When people noted that Sinister isn't a mutant, Hickman said to "watch [him] work". The Mr. Sinister-as-a-mutant shows up in ''Powers of X'' #4.
* PromotedFanboy: Hickman stated at San Diego Comic-Con 2019 that the ''X-Men'' were always his favorite title at Marvel, and the only one he extensively followed growing up (admitting that as a young comics reader he was more of a DC guy than a Marvel one). He said that he had very little knowledge of the ''ComicBook/FantasticFour'' and ''ComicBook/TheAvengers'' when he signed on to write those titles as compared to the ''X-Men'' (though, fortunately for everyone, Hickman [[ShownTheirWork did his homework before writing]]), with which he is more intimately familiar. This definitely shows in the narrative, which demonstrates said knowledge with obscure characters and elements that other creators would've likely glossed over.
* ProductionNickname: Hickman and EIC C. B. Cebulski describe the series (House of X [=/=] Powers of X) via the acronyms of HOX[=/=]POX.
* TrollingCreator: One of the portals on Krakoa was labeled "Mars", as a reference to incorrect fan-theories [[spoiler:and as {{Foreshadowing}} for [[ComicBook/HellfireGala Mars becoming the first mutant planet]].]] Unfortunately, the joke was botched due to an English-to-Krakoan typo, leading the portal saying "Galm."
