RL and Trivia can't be played with. And WFCHNT is about user/fans, not government, behavior causing such.

* BannedInChina: If RealLife were fiction, this would be a {{deconstruction}}: For a time, Google caved in to China's demand for censorship to avoid being banned. Then later, amid suspicions that the Chinese government was trying to spy on Gmail users, [[WhyFandomCantHaveNiceThings they apparently decided it wasn't worth it and left the country entirely.]]

* TyopOnTheCover: Amusingly enough, the company [[https://www.webcitation.org/68ubHzYs7?url=http://graphics.stanford.edu/~dk/google_name_origin.html got its name this way]]. The founders were brainstorming names when Sean Anderson suggested naming it after the math term for 10[[superscript:100]], and they were pleasantly surprised that "Google" was available as a web domain. It was only after they registered it that they realized the term is actually spelled ''[[https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Googol Googol]]''. Googol.com was already taken, so the misspelled version stuck.

* MutuallyFictional: To celebrate the belated 2020 Tokyo Winter Games in July 2021, the Google Doodle was a video game called "Doodle Champion Island Games", starring a cat named Lucky (as in, "I'm Feeling Lucky") and featuring character designs and animated sequences by Creator/Studio4C. By completing every sidequest, the player will encounter Momo, the black cat from the Halloween doodles...and both cats will immediately remark that they've played the other one's game, leading to confusion before they both decide not to dwell on it.

Redundant. I hadn't checked to see whether that was on the main page or not.

* DevelopersForesight: Google must have had some ''Series/MontyPythonsFlyingCircus'' fans on staff when they designed Google Translate, since if you enter the [[AsLongAsItSoundsForeign "German" version]][[note]]"Wenn ist das Nunstuck git und Slotermeyer? Ja! Beiherhund das Oder die Flipperwaldt gersput!"[[/note]] of "The Funniest Joke in the World", from the show's first episode "Whither Canada?", into the text box, it comes out as "[FATAL ERROR]." When you enter "FATAL ERROR" into the box and click for the German translation, it answers with the actual German, "TÖDLICHER FEHLER."
