* IKnewIt:
** The title ended up being the most popular contender as far back as the second film’s marketing.
** People who theorized that Ariana Dumbledore had been an Obscurial like Credence all the way back when the first film was released were finally proven right here.
** The small number of people who predicted Credence might be related to the Dumbledores but not in the way Grindelwald said were also proven right.

Requires Word Of God or Word Of Saint Paul citation that confirm these, per main page.

* AuthorsSavingThrow:
** After ''Film/FantasticBeastsTheCrimesOfGrindelwald'' was controversial in the writing for its women of color, namely Leta and Nagini, this film does a better job with how it handles the writing of Lally, who is portrayed as simply a likable, confident heroic character without having baggage related to real life racial stereotypes. [[ChuckCunninghamSyndrome Many wish that Nagini could have returned to see if she would have fared better with this film's writing as well, however]].
** After the entire ''Franchise/HarryPotter'' series, along with the first two ''Fantastic Beasts'' films, never actually confirmed that Dumbledore is gay despite Creator/JKRowling giving her [[WordofGay word for it]], leading to what many fans perceived as a case of HideYourGays, this film finally confirms Dumbledore's orientation in the opening scene by showing Dumbledore and Grindelwald on a date, and then Dumbledore outright states the romantic feelings that he once held for Grindelwald multiple times throughout the film. It took over two decades, but a ''Wizarding World'' film finally didn't hide Dumbledore's orientation.
** After criticism of Grindelwald's {{Narm}}y appearance in the last two movies, this movie makes him look more like an ordinary man, doing away with his dyed hair, pale skin, and toning down his heterochromia ([[https://static.wikia.nocookie.net/harrypotter/images/8/8d/Fantastic_Beasts-_The_Secrets_of_Dumbledore_-_Gellert_Grindelwald_.png which is only really noticeable now during closeups]]).
** While ''Film/FantasticBeastsAndWhereToFindThem'' had Newt's caring for and attempts to find his beasts be the majority of the main plot, ''Crimes of Grindelwald'' made minimal use of Newt's beasts outside of incredibly specific points, essentially making them living plot devices. In this film, the newly introduced Qilin twins are central to the main plot, as the driving force of the plot is to stop Grindelwald's cheating at an election with an undead Qilin by revealing its still living sister.
** ''Crimes of Grindelwald'' suffered from its main plot being hard to figure out, as it was bulked down by several subplots. This film is much more concise with what the main plot is - foiling Grindelwald's plans for the International Confederation of Wizards election and keeping the baby Qilin safe - as well as tying up loose plot strands, such as Credence's real identity and Jacob and Queenie's relationship.

* TheOtherDarrin: A couple of dubs followed suit with the recast of Grindelwald, replacing Depp’s regular VA with Mikkelsen’s. The Japanese dub had Creator/KazuhikoInoue replace Creator/HiroakiHirata, while in the Latin American Spanish dub, Creator/GerardoReyero replaces Creator/RicardoTejedo. In a funny coincidence, this also makes him TheDanza as Gellert and Gerardo are different versions of the same name and the character is called that in many translations.
