** Walt hated ''WesternAnimation/TheGoldenTouch'', so much so that just the mere mention of the cartoon's very name was strictly forbidden.

* MagnumOpusDissonance: Walt Disney adored WesternAnimation/MickeyMouse like a child and wanted the rest of the world to love him too, to the point that he remains the mascot of Creator/{{Disney}} today. However, most people instead view Mickey as a bland VanillaProtagonist who, while important in the history of animation, hasn't been truly relevant in the mainstream since the 1930s and only continues to be relevant at all due to being Disney's mascot (despite Disney's varying attempts to revitalize him and keep him relevant). Instead, the most beloved classic Disney shorts character is WesternAnimation/DonaldDuck -- who was initially no more than a side character ''The Wise Little Hen'', but would go on to become a BreakoutCharacter more popular than Mickey himself -- much to Walt's bafflement. This ironically comes down to Donald having fewer restraints on him compared to Mickey (whom Disney is fiercely protective of), allowing him to have a more exaggerated and fleshed-out personality than Mickey.

However, original prints of many of them containing their original title screens currently are lost and the WesternAnimation/MickeyMouse shorts ''When the Cat's Away'' and ''The Jazz Fool'' currently lack their opening music.

(although they are available on VHS and some of them on DVD) ** Poor little "Susie the Little Blue Coupe" didn't get into the Disney Rarities set (although it has somehow made its way onto public domain [=DVDs=] like Bazooka Joes cartoons, as well as included on DVD releases of ''WesternAnimation/TheAdventuresOfIchabodAndMrToad'' and ''Film/TheLoveBug'' as extras and as part of a series of [=DVD=]s called "It's a Small World of Fun").
