* CreatorChosenCasting: Tom Holland, the director of the original film, posted on Website/{{Twitter}} about Creator/MarkHamill's casting of Chucky as a "smart move."

** After the release of ''Seed of Chucky'' in 2004, the franchise creator Don Mancini originally planned to remake the original 1988 film. This remake would be a serious horror film, with a child protagonist, and Brad Dourif physically appearing. Mancini eventually dropped the idea when he realized that most of remakes of horror classics were not being well received by the public, and mainly because of the fact that the rights to the first film were divided between MGM and Universal. Not wanting to wait several years for the remake to be approved, Mancini decided to make a new sequel set in the same timeline as the previous five films, ''Curse of Chucky'' (2013).

* WhatCouldHaveBeen: Some aspects from earlier drafts of the script had to be changed for [[ScrewedByTheLawyers legal reasons]]:
** Chucky implicitly gaining sentience via supernatural means after the factory worker's death in the opening scene.
** Chucky decapitating Shane and presenting Andy with his severed head, rather than his severed face nailed to a watermelon.
** Pugg making a voodoo-related wisecrack about Chucky's murder of Shane.
** Chucky pulling a KillAndReplace on a Buddi named Chode that belongs to Omar, rather than Omar claiming Chucky for his own and giving him that name.
