The 2015 reboot for Franchise/{{LEGO}}'s ''Franchise/{{Bionicle}}'' franchise. The story takes place on the island of Okoto, where beings known as the Protectors, as well as other villagers, live. The Protectors wear elemental [[MaskOfPower Masks of Power]] created by the mask-making brothers Ekimu and Makuta.
Ekimu's masks were more treasured than Makuta's, so out of jealousy, the latter decided to create the Mask of Ultimate Power, which contained the power of all six elements (fire, water, earth, stone, ice, and jungle), thereby breaking a sacred law that no mask should contain the power of more than one element. The power is too much for Makuta and the mask devastated the island. In order to save him and the island, Ekimu knocked the mask off his face, which created a powerful shockwave that sent both of the brothers into a coma-like state.
Eventually, following the Prophecy of Heroes, a group of elemental masters called Toa crashed onto the island. Their destiny is to find their Golden Masks of Power and defeat the evil Skull Spiders, who seek after the Mask Makers' masks (specifically Ekimu's Mask of Creation).

The 2015 reboot for Franchise/{{LEGO}}'s ''Franchise/{{Bionicle}}'' franchise. The story takes place on the island of Okoto, where beings known as the Protectors, as well as other villagers, live. The Protectors wear elemental [[MaskOfPower Masks of Power]] created by the mask-making brothers Ekimu and Makuta.
Ekimu's masks were more treasured than Makuta's, so out of jealousy, the latter decided to create the Mask of Ultimate Power, which contained the power of all six elements (fire, water, earth, stone, ice, and jungle), thereby breaking a sacred law that no mask should contain the power of more than one element. The power is too much for Makuta and the mask devastated the island. In order to save him and the island, Ekimu knocked the mask off his face, which created a powerful shockwave that sent both of the brothers into a coma-like state.
Eventually, following the Prophecy of Heroes, a group of elemental masters called Toa crashed onto the island. Their destiny is to find their Golden Masks of Power and defeat the evil Skull Spiders, who seek after the Mask Makers' masks (specifically Ekimu's Mask of Creation).
