Tosen and Nozomi were hit with Character Perception Evolution and are no longer regarded as such.

** Kaname Tousen is hated for many reasons, first and foremost, for being a total hypocrite who betrays Soul Society for extremely flimsy reasons: wanting to walk the path of the least bloodshed toward peace... by siding with the egomaniacal traitor whose entire plan revolves around starting a bloody war and who is perfectly fine with murdering his own allies just because they're of no use to him anymore. Another reason fans hate him is for initially being the blind man in the BlindAndTheBeast with Komamura, then insulting by calling Komamura ugly to his face the second he regains his sight. He's also hated for holding one of the most blatant examples of the IdiotBall in the series history in his fight with Kenpachi, where he traps Kenpachi in his sensory deprivation Bankai, then just stands around taunting and lecturing him (which, as noted, Kenpachi ''can't hear'' anymore) instead of just finishing him off, which he ends up losing the fight because of.
** The Modsoul trio of Ririn, Noba, and Kurōdo were reviled during their debut in the Bount Arc for their individual traits. Ririn's sometimes loud and arrogant, Noba's too shy, and Kurôdo talks too much for the audience's taste. By the end of the Bount Arc they were not only reduced to comic relief, but allowed to leak into the canon material of the Arrancar Arc, quickly increasing their earlier hate.
** In the The New Captain Shūsuke Amagai FillerArc, Rurichiyo Kasumiōji is a spoiled brat of a rich kid who's prone to being kidnapped just to keep her unpopular Filler arc going. Fans also find her Third-Person Person quirk annoying to listen to, and just plain don't like how useless she was in said arc.
** In the Gotei 13 Invading Army FillerArc, Nozomi's existence was justified by rewriting canon character backgrounds, stealing unique canon abilities, reducing Rukia and Orihime to bit-roles that consisted solely of shilling her, removing Ichigo as TheProtagonist to turn Kon into her LoveInterest, and making her more powerful than even [[StoryBreakerPower Yamamoto]].

** In Pepe Waccabrada, Sternritter L, is one of the The New Captain Shūsuke Amagai FillerArc, Rurichiyo Kasumiōji is few outright hated characters introduced in the final arc. While he isn't meant to be likable given his actions as an antagonist, he's still widely disliked for a spoiled brat combination of a rich kid who's prone to being kidnapped just to keep her unpopular Filler arc going. Fans also find her Third-Person Person quirk annoying to listen to, his tonally out of place design and just plain abilities that, unlike characters like Mask De Masculine, don't like how useless she was in said arc.

get offset by his effectiveness as a threat, being a rehash of the Gotei 13 Invading Army FillerArc, Nozomi's existence was justified by rewriting canon character backgrounds, stealing unique canon abilities, reducing Rukia fight against Zommari from the Espada (almost the exact same powers and Orihime to bit-roles that consisted solely of shilling her, removing Ichigo as TheProtagonist to turn Kon both even fight Byakuya), and for slowing down the arc by drawing out several existing fights into her LoveInterest, and his own (mainly the zombie fights). Worse, nothing really significant happens once he becomes important, making her more powerful than even [[StoryBreakerPower Yamamoto]]. the story's focus on him feel like he drags it down, with his biggest accomplishment being responsible for one Sternritter being knocked out.

** ''Anime/DragonBallSuper'':
*** [[spoiler:Infinite]] Zamasu is easily his most-hated form (especially the version in the anime). Lots of fans see said form as the cheapest DiabolusExMachina in the whole franchise, and the main cause of the Future Trunks Saga's ShootTheShaggyDog ending.
*** The Kamikaze Fireballs/Maiden Squadron of Universe 2 is given a ''lot'' of hate, not only from ''Dragon Ball'' fans, but also fans of MagicalGirl series in general. Most of the hate is geared towards Brianne de Chateau/Ribrianne. Her Ribrianne form is incredibly off-putting (while Kakunsa and Rozie look reasonably normal, Ribrianne is incredibly chubby and is constantly showing off her bloomers because of her costume's design), but her attitude is the complete antithesis to what a magical girl is as she's a warrior whose idea of ThePowerOfLove is disgustingly superficial and hypocritical. Rozie seems to [[AvertedTrope avoid this]] though, and is considered an EnsembleDarkhorse.

** ''Anime/StarTwinklePrettyCure'': The Star Princesses fell into this ''hard'' by the final few episodes, especially when it was revealed they fully intended Fuwa to be used as a sacrificial vessel to be used in order to save the universe from total darkness... never mind the fact that they also made Fuwa fully cognitive and entrusted them to the Pretty Cures themselves (who of course are going to form a bond with them) and expected them to go along with this plan despite being LockedOutOfTheLoop. This also extends to how the Princesses let Ophiuchus off the hook despite betraying them and almost bringing total destruction to the universe, with no contingency or observational plan in case she tries to do something again. This caused many in the fandom to see them less as flawed, but well meaning guardians and more short-sighted idiots who have no idea how to properly run a universe.

** ''Anime/KiraKiraPrettyCureALaMode'': While the Servants of Noir are generally considered to be a mixed bag among the viewers, they still managed to have their own fans, especially Julio and Bibury, but good luck finding anyone who ''slightly'' cares about Noir himself, as most viewers see him as a dull and forgettable BigBad who lacks the charisma and attitudes his servants had and exists solely to progress the story via DiabolusExMachina, like how he caused [[spoiler:Julio to disappear for most of the season's second half]] which earned him tons of hatred. And his detractors only increased [[spoiler:once his backstory was revealed, which they felt was utterly petty and incomparable to any of the atrocities he committed, with Elysio betraying and killing him cementing his status as a pathetic main villain]].

*** Shiny Luminous is disliked among a group of fans for "not being a Cure" and/or having "a flat personality" and doesn't fight.

Mami is listed as a Base Breaking Character in the series YMMV page, and she is not unintentionally hated.

* ''Manga/RentAGirlfriend'': ''Nobody'' likes Mami. Not only does she come off as a [[ManipulativeBitch blatant manipulator who toys with people's feelings]], with her introduction showing that she broke up with Kazuya after just a month with the explanation of meeting someone she likes more [[BlatantLies (which is later revealed to be a lie)]], fans are further put off by how cruelly she treats him. During a mixer, she viciously insults him and derides him as a pervert in front of Chizuru, which her and Kazuya's friends [[EveryoneHasStandards find very uncomfortable despite their own tendency to rib on him]]. And she even goes as far to demand Kazuya ''[[NeverMyFault apologizes on her behalf]]'' when Chizuru defends him and calls her out on it. Fans are also extremely put off for her motives for trying to break Kazuya and Chizuru up, which isn't because she still likes Kazuya and wants him back like most instances of this, but out of spite over the fact [[EvilIsPetty that Kazuya apparently found another girlfriend so soon after she dumped him.]] While a large part of this is intentional due to her being a HateSink, the author ended up going a bit too far, where instead of being a character that readers/viewers LoveToHate, she became a character that people just want gone from the story entirely.

** Super Android 17 is often regarded as the weakest major ArcVillain in the franchise, which is notable for a series where the villains tend to be very well-liked. This mainly stems from his origin and concept being completely inexplicable: his creators built a robot on par with Goku and carrying a connection to 17 that allowed them to remotely control him and open a portal to his location, with no discernible explanation for where they got the resources to do so ''[[OffscreenVillainDarkMatter while in Hell]]'', and they can fuse into a being stronger than Super Saiyan 4 Goku... somehow. He also has the shortest arc, and displays very little personality or unique traits across that arc, with him being under mind control for most of the arc and his fighting style coming across as a retread of past Androids. And being under mind control, it means 17, an already underutilized character, is effectively written out of the series in ''an arc where he's the focal character''--something that became even more widely mocked when ''Super'' managed to make 17 important in a much better-received fashion. To drive it home further, the arc [[OutOfFocus barely puts any focus on either Android 17 for quite some time,]] instead preferring to drag its feet by dedicating itself to the heroes defeating every villain in the series with little fanfare before finally getting to the main threat, meaning 17 is wasted ''even more.'' Pretty much the only positive things fans tend to say about him is that he has nice hair, [[GatlingGood Hell's Storm]] is a cool attack, and he prompted one of his sister's very few spotlight moments in that series. It doesn't help that his status as an ArcVillain ensures he'll show up whenever a game wants to make a nod to ''GT,'' and games that include ''every'' major antagonist in this series will inevitably include him as a playable character.

** While opinions on ''Anime/DragonBallGT'' and its villains range wildly, Dolltaki, a minor antagonist from the early arcs, is one of the most hated unanimously disliked characters in the franchise. As a simpering weakling with no sympathetic traits, it's pretty easy to tell he was meant as a HateSink, and plot-wise, he suffers from being approximately the fourth case of all its villains tends TheManBehindTheMan in about as many episodes, and not the last. However, the main problem is that the writers decided to make him a comic relief villain, whose comedic trait is his obsession with dolls. Specifically, Pan, who has been turned into a doll, and specifically showing that obsession by having him constantly fondle the doll and talk about how he wants to undress it to put it in different outfits, while Pan complains about being "[[DefiledForever ruined for marriage]]." Keep in mind: Pan is ''ten years old''. Needless to say, this makes his scenes incredibly creepy and unpleasant to sit through, in an already unpopular part of the series. Many fans consider his sole redeeming scene to be the one where he gets killed by his boss.
