Embracer is guilty for many things, but killing The Escapist isn't one of them.

* On November 6th, 2023, Yahtzee resigned from ''The Escapist'' after Nick Calandra was fired by their corporate owners, ''The Embracer Group''. Yahtzee didn't fancy being the only viable series on the site again, so he left in solidarity to join ''Second Wind''. On the one hand, it's more than admirable that Yahtzee stuck by his team, and even more admirable that he's still producing reviews how he sees fit. Other hand, it's sad that ''Zero Punctuation'' is over, since he doesn't own the IP and couldn't take it with him. Decades of work, and it didn't even get a proper sign-off.

* The Extra Punctuation video, [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wdqhbW6kipM "Dark Souls is the Ultimate Game of All Time?"]], has Yahtzee candidly confess to some of his darker thoughts and fears concerning the state of video games as an industry and art form - and, indeed, society as a whole. As a man who champions games as art, he fears that not only has the concept of auteurism died in today's corporate design-by-committee practices, but that to move the industry away from such practices would require massive societal reform that, he worries, is no longer possible, since the systems that allow the big corporations to continue their anti-consumer practices are far too entrenched. At this point, in his mind, it's already too late to stop said systems from dragging society into inevitable collapse and apocalypse, and by then video games won't even matter.

* The episode about the Corrupted Blood Incident from ''VideoGame/WorldOfWarcraft'' has two points that really highlight how it reflected humanity at its best and worst at once.
** While the incident itself was going on, some players began to organise cordons to warn other players to stay out of the in-game cities to prevent the spread of the virus, while healers coordinated to keep people alive and high level players who could tank the debuff tried to get a handle on things in the cities. But their efforts were largely undone by rubberneckers who were carelessly logging in to see all the {{Gorn}} caused by the spread of the virus and the {{Troll}}s who loved the pain the other players were going through and became determined to keep it going at all costs until Blizzard were forced to hard reset the servers and patch the dungeon that caused the debuff.
** After describing the event itself, Yahtzee talks about how the incident caused academics to take an interest in [[TruthInTelevision whether it might be applicable to real life pandemics, especially sociologically]]. But others argued that no, it wasn't because [[TemptingFate people would have to be massive idiots to blow off official quarantine orders or deliberately spread a disease around]]. Then many years later, the UsefulNotes/COVID19Pandemic happened, and it turned out that [[RealityIsUnrealistic no, really, people were genuinely stupid and reckless enough to do all that and more]], as humanity lived down to all of the worst behaviour exhibited in the incident. Yahtzee remarks that this is less a joke at the expense of the game industry than the entire human race.

* His summation of ''Return To Monkey Island'' feels like a depressing {{Broken Pedestal}} moment in regards to the ''Monkey Island'' series' creators.
-->'''Yahtzee:''' Not that [the ending] is as 1/16th-bottomed as everything else; they're clearly making a statement with it. Pah! Talk about missing the point! What a sad lame-o you must be! The end!" And just to grind the heel in a bit, there's a personal message from the creators: "Aw, when you think about it, ''Monkey Island 1'' was about a wide-eyed naif discovering themselves, ''Monkey Island 2'' was about trying to recreate a success that the wide world didn't care that much about. Haven't these games always been about where ''we'' were as creators?" Oh, okay. So you're saying the final message of ''Return to Monkey Island'' is, "We've stopped giving a shit, and so should you." '''Message received!''' How about next time you just tweet that and not charge me 20 bucks?!

You're readin way too much into these reviews

** If that doesn't get you emotional, the VisualPun at the very beginning of the video should give you a clue. Notice how Yahtzee lies down on his back in front of the TV with the controller on his stomach, turning his head toward the side and letting out a sigh at [[https://i.imgur.com/DPpAJ8T.png?1 the very first shot]]? This gives away the implication that [[spoiler:Arthur lies down on his back and lets out his final breath with his head turned toward the sunrise in one of the High Honor endings]]. And the part after that shot when Yahtzee says, "...and I have to say, I'm quite shook"? This is another implication giveaway that [[spoiler:Arthur's death happens as the song "Crash of Worlds" (a reprise version of "Unshaken") plays in the background (hence, the word ''"shook"'')]], thereby giving away the ending without saying how it happens.
