** Daryl, for his part, is implied to have arrived well before he killed Morales, but bided his time to actually give Rick a chance to talk him down. But when Morales spat on the graves of their old friends and still remained loyal to Negan even after faltering upon hearing of Glenn’s murder, Daryl decided that there was nothing that could be done. Hearing Morales disregard Glenn’s death - which he’s still carrying a lot of grief over - is what convinces Daryl to give up on him. Even though he tries to act cold and dismissive of his actions, he does sound disappointed that one of their old allies turned on them.

** This face Negan makes, which is the folder picture, must be elaborated upon. Negan is basically about to finish the war as the victor, ready to pound in Rick's head with Lucille. And then, Rick tells him about Carl, and this realization hits Negan: only now did he have to take his leadership of the Saviors and his brutal dictatorship into consideration and consider if triumphing over Rick and killing him is what he really wants. As a result, he has to reflect on everything that had led up to the war that he himself started. From what the viewers can see on his face: '''he's actually saddened and conflicted on his actions'''. He was so caught up in the war's politics and handling of his group of survivors, that he never once had the time to contemplate what he's become to survive, and from the events afterward, at a wrong, crucial time, due to Rick using this window of opportunity to give Negan a SlashedThroat with a shard of glass. Despite his LargeHam and SirSwearsALot tendencies, we can still see what is essentially a TragicVillain.

* Finally, the time comes for the group to leave. Rosita is heartbroken when Sasha declares she's going to take Abraham's body to Hilltop with her (another slap in the face, no doubt), but the two women rest their hands on Abraham's back together to find some sort of peace with their slain loved one, until Eugene comes to help carry him away. Maggie begins breaking down crying and is comforted by Carl (who no doubt remembers her comforting him during the loss of Lori) as Rick, Aaron, and Michonne begin lifting Glenn's body. It's unseen, but it's just further salt in the wound that the group cringe as they lift Glenn and Abraham's bodies and have to watch their mangled head matter spill out as they do so.

* Aaron may be the latest addition to the group - and you could argue he's also not ''technically'' a member since he's a native Alexandrian who only befriended the group when they integrated into the larger Alexandria community - but he's no less heartbroken and disturbed to watch Abraham and Glenn die. Glenn's senseless, cruel death eventually sends him into TranquilFury mode, as if Aaron is finally forced to reckon with the evils of humanity for the first time.

Daryl takes the time to assure him he would've died for Carl, but that Rick can't use Carl's death as an excuse, since sparing Negan created just as many problems as executing him would.

This particularly causes Negan to squirm as he remembers too what a monster he was. For her part, Maggie tells Negan that he has earned his place in the community and that she wants to try to let go of her hate for him, disgusted with how much energy it has drained from her over the years - and how badly it's affected Hershel since he was born. ** Maggie describes Glenn as the love of her life, calling him "beautiful" and recalling with happiness how he made her feel. But she also says that she will ''never'' love anyone like that again. It's both heartwarming and heart''breaking'' that despite only being married to Glenn for probably two years tops, she knows that he was the love of her life, and that she ''never'' will love anybody like she loved him. Negan and many other survivors were eventually able to find it in their hearts to love somebody else after losing their loved ones, but Maggie makes plain that will not be the case for her. Her love life is gone ''because'' the love of her life is gone, and Negan is squarely to blame for it.
