* When Rito destroyed the Thunder Megazord Season Three episode "Ninja Quest", that was the last time we ever got to see the original Dinozords in action. Kimberly's BigNo at the sight does NOT help. This is even more heartbreaking after reading the Boom! Studios comics, where she affectionately uses female pronouns when talking about the Pterodactyl zord, making it seem like Kim lost a beloved friend more than just a vehicle.

** Creator/DavidYost gives the most convincing performance as Billy with his BigNo seeing the Command Center burning in shambles. More than any other Ranger, the Command Center was like a second home to him. He makes his pain sound genuine.
*** This also had consequences in ''Zeo'' when said explosion messed with his body on a cellular level and as a result, he almost never used any powers again. Though, crossover episodes show he eventually got his original powers back.
* On November 20th 2022 it was announced that Jason David Frank, who played Tommy Oliver, arguably the most famous Ranger, had unexpectedly passed away due to suicide.

*** This also had consequences in ''Zeo'' when said explosion messed with his body on a cellular level and as a result, he never took on another set of ranger powers again. Poor guy...

* In "The Spit Flower", Rita sends a group of Putties to [[KickTheDog smash up Kimberly's float model]], making her cry.

* In "Green With Evil", each part has its moments. The most heartbreaking one would have to be when Tommy destroys the command center. Zordon, knowing well that Tommy is the Green Ranger, tries to talk him out of it, but to no avail.

* The apparent bad blood between Austin St. John and Creator/JasonDavidFrank, considering Jason and Tommy's friendship, was a spot of real pain for the fans for a long time.
** Happily, it seems they've buried the hatchet if them attending the premiere of the ''Film/PowerRangers2017'' is any indication.
* Perhaps the greatest example is the death of Thuy Trang, the actress who portrayed Trini, in September of 2001 from a horrific car accident; it left all her castmates absolutely devastated (to the point that they have difficulty speaking of it decades later) and ripped the hearts out of fans who heard the news as well, especially since Trang wasn't even 30 years old at the time of her death. ** This also led to some contention with the 2017 movie, as certain elements of it felt disrespectful to her memory to many long-time ''MMPR'' fans.
* The fact that David Yost's [[BadassGay orientation]] lead to him literally being bullied out of acting, forcing Billy's character to be unceremoniously exiled from canon, even as they tried to give him a fitting send off.
* Bob Manahan, Zordon's voice actor from mid Season One to the very end of ''[[Series/PowerRangersInSpace In Space]]'', died on June 30, 2000 from a heart aneurism at age 43.
* Bob Papenbrook, voice of Rito Revolto, died at only 50 years old on March 17, 2006 due to lung issues.
* Richard Genelle, Ernie, passed on December 30, 2008, at age 47 from a heart attack. [[HarsherInHindsight Especially disheartening]] since the reason he left the series during ''[[Series/PowerRangersTurbo Turbo]]'' was in apprehension of such a thing due to his obesity.
* While there admittedly wasn’t much to his character, Maurice Mendoza, Richie, died at only age 39 on August 13, 2013.
** On October 5 of the same year, Alissa Smego, who played Shawna in Season Two's “Forever Friends” committed suicide due to being unable to cope with mental illness also at only 39.
* On September 7, 2019, Robert Axelrod, the voice actor for Lord Zedd and Finster, died at 70 years old from complications resulting from spinal surgery.
* Cody Slaton, the actor who played Bulk as a child during the ''Alien Rangers'' saga, passed away on July 24, 2019, just over two weeks after his 36th birthday.

* While there admittedly wasn’t much to his character, Maurice Mendoza, Richie, died at only 39 on August 13, 2013.
