** While [[AmbiguousSituation it's unclear whether the whole planet traveling really happened in-universe or was just a dream/imagination by Jorel's brother to cope with the loss]], it's made clear that Tosh has, indeed, [[KilledOffForReal passed away with no comeback]].

While the show is loaded with funny and bizarre moments, it still has a [[TearJerker significant amount]] of emotional, heartbreaking scenes, mostly revolving around the titular character's struggles.
'''Any spoilers will be unmarked.'''
* "O Fenomenal Capacete com Rodinhas" reveals that Nico used to be just as pretty and popular as Jorel, until a day when he ended up falling from his bike. Since then, he's become a messy, uncaring loser who's totally different from the kid he used to be.
* In "Gangorras da Revolução", Edson tells the story of how he and Perdigoto [[WeUsedToBeFriends used to be teammates]] fighting against the clowns' dictatorship during their youth by acting in a play about bears living in nut shells. However, Perdigoto ended up betraying Edson by selling the play's rights to Shostners and Shostners, getting corrupted by greed and now being an ally of the people he used to fight against with his now-rival, Edson.
* "A História Sem Começo, Meio e Fim": Jorel's brother gets understandably upset after noticing how little attention he gets from his family; none of them have any photos of him, only of the other brothers and even the ducks. He gets so sad, he tries to run away from his house. In the end, Granny Juju finds a videotape filled with videos of Jorel's brother, but Granny Gigi points out that she already recorded a movie over said tape.
* "Aterrorizante Vida Adulta" has a brief scene where Teacher Adelaide vents to the kids about the danger of choosing a profession they don't like, which may ruin their lives forever. She quickly covers it up, clearly masking her own sadness and regrets.
* "Ilha Doideira"
* "Excursão Alucinante Sem Freio"
* "De Volta Para o Futuro do Passado" introduced an elderly version of Jorel's brother [[note]]Though this isn't his first appearance, as [[EarlyBirdCameo he had appeared for a split second]] in the Season 1 episode "Fúria e Poder Sobre Rodas", to which Jorel's brother and Lara time-travel back to in this episode[[/note]] who tries to explain to his present version that he is going to lose Lara. While this seems a lot like foreshadowing for later in the season (see below), it seems like that version of Jorel's brother never got Lara back either, or that she had already died during his time period.
* "Elefante de Porcelana" is a ''huge'' WhamEpisode which was, for a long time, considered the saddest of the series by fans. It seems like a normal episode at first with Lara and Ana Catarina, along with William Shostners, visiting the house of Jorel's brother to do a team project with him for school. It takes a huge turn when Lara reveals that she is moving to Japan because of her mother, and seemingly will have to abandon her best friend for good. Jorel's brother gets totally shocked when he hears this, locking himself in the closet to try to process his grief. He ends up sleeping while remembering all the good moments he and Lara had since meeting in early babyhood, through a series of touching flashbacks. Ana Catarina wakes up, but again, Jorel's brother is so touched that [[OOCIsSeriousBusiness does not care about her at all]] and rushes to the airport in order to at least get to say goodbye to his best friend for one last time. Sadly, the plane ends up departing just before he can do that, making Jorel's brother and Lara totally separated, causing the heart-wrenching moment in the page image.
