* Nica's whole life has been one tragedy after another, first Charles kidnaps her mother and then stabs Nica in utero for something Sarah wasn't even guilty of (it was Tiffany all along). Then Chucky starts picking off Nica's family one by one until only Nica and her niece, Alice, remain and Nica is taken to a mental hospital and blamed for the murders while Chucky possesses Alice. Over the next four years, Nica is sexually assaulted by her doctor and is brainwashed into thinking she did the murders. Then she's told Alice died of a broken heart and she tries to commit suicide in response. Then the rest of the patients start dying and she ends up possessed by Chucky who reveals that Alice was actually killed by a potential victim who fought back. Nica's a hostage in her own body for a good while as Chucky and Tiffany murder people and essentially rape Nica before she manages to wake up. Then Tiffany cuts her limbs off and holds her hostage for a year. Then she finally manages to escape but she's still wanted for all the murders and she accidentally shoots Glen which she's clearly broken up about. She's had it far worse than anyone in the franchise, even Andy.

* From the very day he meets Chucky, Andy's life is set on a downward spiral from which it never returns from -- getting placed in a foster home, being separated from his mother, having to deal with one spectacularly unhelpful individual after another with few allies to speak of, and by the end of the third film, ostensibly getting arrested. By the time we catch up with him in Curse and Cult, it's evident his ordeals with Chucky have left him a lonesome wreck, and if the latter's ending is anything to go by, he may never seem to find any sort of peace.

* Whitehurst's death in the third film. After spending the entire film being the ButtMonkey, he acts as a human shield to a grenade that would have likely killed or seriously injured his fellow soldiers (who were too distracted by Sheldon's death to give the grenade much thought) and ends up dead. Andy doesn't even have time to shed tears as he must pursue Chucky to save Tyler. The only one to shed tears besides Andy is Iris.

* Really, Andy's entire life story. ** In the first film, Andy's trauma is further reflected by the sad, haunting music that plays over the end credits, described by one [=YouTuber=] as the theme song of a childhood destroyed beyond repair.

* The ending of Cult of Chucky: [[spoiler:Chucky has succeeded in murdering everyone in the asylum (barring Nica and Andy), possesses Nica (who learned that Alice was killed and whom Andy tried to rescue) and escapes with Tiffany and a living Tiffany doll. Andy meanwhile is now locked in the same asylum with another Chucky doll who will either torture him or try to possess him like he always wanted to. Even worse is that Andy has no supplies or weapons with him except for a pistol which is now empty. On top of that, it's likely he'll take the fall for all the murders that happened there again.]] Besides TheStinger and the conformation of the TV series as well as more films, this may very well be the bleakest ending in the entire series.

** Also, the only thing Phil was guilty of, especially in the TV cut, was that he and his wife DidntThinkThisThrough before giving in to foster Andy, which provided some understandable justification to reconsider sending him back and his frustration when he questions the boy's sanity, which further made his death not completely deserving as well.
