However, there are Malformations, special Alterations that Echidna grants and that may even bypass regular Alteration Limits with the drawbacks that [[RedRightHand they can be seen even in human form]] and that the Sirens/Vodianoi that own them tend to find themselves serving Echidna.

* HilariousInHindsight: ''Siren'' had Honolulu as it's CityOfAdventure, but it was later found out how one weird law in Honolulu is that it's illegal to sing loudly after sunset. Given that Sirens rely on ''singing'' for their Verses to function, this was bound to happen. The developers have ways on how to justify this in universe, either Celestial Currents made it for TheMasquerade, Flensers did it to make hunting Sirens easier or Acheron made it to cause chaos for the other currents.

* HumanResources: Both Echidna and the Flensers are guilty of this; depending on how human you consider the Sirens to be in the latter case.

* MagicMusic: The Sirens perform their powers through Verses, which if they have the right Introduction, Opuses and Conclusions, they can make almost any effect they please. Save anything related to Pyrokinesis.
** BrownNote: Possible with any Verse, but the Disturb Conclusion is the best wielder of this.
** GlassShatteringSound: Glass, and anything else the Siren targets with the Destroy Conclusion.
** HealingHands: The Restore Conclusion has the power to heal whatever it targets.
** MindControl Music: The Control Conclusion allows a Siren to control whatever her opuses dictate.
** MusicSoothesTheSavageBeast: And anyone, or any event or power, targeted by the Calm Conclusion.
** SummonBackupDancers: Backup Dancers and anything else with the Invoke Conclusion.

* FantasticRacism: Sirens do not like [[TabletopGame/BeastThePrimordial Beasts]], as they feed off of ruining things and people, which can affect people and make them less active against the Deluge which can eventually lead right to it. Most of their stereotypes on Beasts seem to cover this, save Acheron who admonishes them for using excuses for their feeding and tells them to become [[FullyEmbracedFiend fully embraced fiends]].

''Siren: The Drowning'' is a game about World Survival, the attempt to keep the world running and to avert the Deluge, the apocalypse that destroyed the earth from happening. The Sirens are a splat of Mermaids and Mermen who have suffered the Drowning, a point in their lives where it seems they would've crossed the DespairEventHorizon, but they managed to break out of it anyways and achieve their Surfacing, gaining their Diluvian Form in the process.

** When explaining [[NeverShallTheSelvesMeet what happens]] when a mortal meets their Survivor counterpart, the sidebar is named "Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap", which is a reference towards Manga/Jojo'sBizarreAdventure:SteelBallRun.

* FantasticRacism: Sirens do not like [[TabletopGame/BeastThePrimordial Beasts]], as they feed off of ruining things and people, which can affect people and make them less active against the Deluge which can eventually lead right to it. Most of their stereotypes on Beasts seem to cover this.

* TheDarkSide: Almost literal with the Abyssal Currents. As well, a Siren who loses all of her Lucidity becomes a Banshee, a Siren who desires only Pneuma and nothing else.

* KarmaMeter: Lucidity, which measures how well a Siren can stick between Civilization and Nature.

* YourSoulIsMine: All three parts of this trope are played with in ''Siren''. "Just the Soul" is how most Sirens feed, taking only pieces of a human's soul (represented by the human losing Willpower from being fed on). "Killed Too" only happens if a Siren drains a living person of all of their Willpower (permanent and temporary), and even then the person only goes catatonic, dying if nobody cares for them and recovery is possible if they're in contact with someone they love. "Drained After Death" is only possible if a Siren has killed the human and then put their mouth over the dead human's mouth very shortly after killing them. The result is that the Siren regains all of her Pneuma, if with a likely hit to their Lucidity.

** To a lesser extent, Cybernetics. They aren't evil and actually can improve on the human condition. However, Sirens look upon ownership of them with a weary eye as they're almost always associated with Flensers and the Current of Lethe.
