* HistoricalHeroUpgrade: The Dragonlords are seen by the mortal races as heroes who nobly fought and died for their sake, even getting plays and stories that depict them as champions of the mortal races. While the Dragonlords did fight for them, it's noted that the Dragonlords were not as heroic as people viewed them as, in particular Estor, who is seen by many as a hero, but in truth was one of the cruelest people in the past.

* DoomedProtagonist: The "Doomed One" Epic Path is based around this concept. The player character was born during a "fell astrological sign", meaning they are doomed to suffer horribly before being inevitably killed by someone. As a result, the Doomed One is plagued with bad luck and ostracized by society as a whole, with the only hope being if they become strong enough to kill their future killer.

* HopelessBossFight: The play characters can chose to deal with Pythor's Centaur army issue by challenging the Centaur army to an honorable duel between the play characters and the leader. The module discourages this approach though, as the Centaur leader makes sure it is an equal matchup of fighters on both sides, and is strong enough of a threat that he can pose a hard fight for the players when the option arises (around level 3), meaning the player characters won't likely have a way of winning fairly.

''Odyssey of the Dragonlords'' is an adventure module for [[TabletopGame/DungeonsAndDragonsFifthEdition the fifth edition]] of ''TabletopGame/DungeonsAndDragons'', released in early 2020. It is published by Creator/ModiphiusEntertainment and written by Arcanum Worlds, a team composed of many former Creator/BioWare employees who worked on games like ''VideoGame/BaldursGate'' and ''VideoGame/DragonAgeOrigins''. Inspired by Myth/ClassicalMythology, the campaign involves heroes fighting the Gods, and more, as they explore a rich setting.

The module is set in the world of Thylea, a world once ravaged by a great war between the Titans, and the Dragonlords; mortal champions who came to Thylea and warred with the Titans to defend the mortla races. In the end, peace was attained when five Gods appeared and swore an Oath of Peace with the Titans, but such an oath is never meant to always last, and so war looms as the Oath reaches the expiration date. To protect the land, the Oracle has foreseen champions who will walk the path of heroes to stop the Titans, even as trouble brews and the Titans prepare for their war.

* BigBadDuumvirate: As opposed to there being one central antagonist like most modules, the module's primary antagonists are Sydon, the Lord of Storms, and Lutheria, Lady of Dreams. They can be encountered at various points, but even if they somehow are defeated before the Oath of Peace ends, they'll come back after.
* BrotherSisterIncest: Sydon and Lutheria are siblings, but are also lovers, both even having titles such as Sister-Wife.

* ClassicalCyclops: Cyclops are a major part of the setting, being descended from ancient Gods. They lost their real goal for some reason, and thus try to find something new to do. They come in several different kinds, such as the Jancan, who have extra fingers and toes on top of being some of the best smiths in the world, and Gygans, who are more civilized, and have one eye and six arms.

* CreateYourOwnHero: Though destined by the Oracle to become heroes, Sydon and Lutheria end up making the play characters heroes thanks to their actions, such as sending a giant Boar that ends up being killed by the heroes. Some of the Epic Paths take a more direct point of this by having one of the Titans be directly responsible for the play characters past, helping walk them on the path to defeating them.

* DoesNotLikeMen: The Amazons of Themis. Blaming Men for a loss to Sydon, they treat men as slaves for breeding, and only recent events have allowed some to wander the island. Fittingly, going to the island with male player characters usually results in the Amazons trying to capture the heroes without any mercy.

* FullBoarAction: The first combat encounter in the module involves hunting down a giant boar (clearly inspired by the Calydonian Boar) said to have been sent by the Titans as a warning. The boar itself is weakened from prior battles, as at full health it likely would one-shot a group of level one adventures.

* LadyLand: The Amazon's of Themis are a warrior culture of all women, taking heavy inspiration from the Greek Amazonian depictions over more recent interpretations of the idea. They view men as weak due to having lost a past conflict with Sydon, the Lord of Storms. The only men allowed on the island are younger men whose sole purpose is for breeding, though recent events have seen more evil aligned men allowed more freedom.

* {{Medusa}}: Fittingly for a Greece inspired setting, Medusae are a race of humanoid like creatures that are created typically after being cursed for failing to follow an Oath. Player characters can play one, or become one. There exists a rarer variant called the "Euryale", which are ancient Medusa who shed almost all their humanoid features for the more traditional Medusa like look, and gain more power by using Pacts or Oaths for power.

* ReligionOfEvil: The Cults of Sydon and Lutheria. They don't want to outright destroy the world, but they do want to wipe out not only the Five Gods and their followers, but all mortals they find who either won't obey, or get in their way. Sydon's followers are more militaristic and rigid, while Lutheria's Cult are more hedonistic and practice child sacrifices.
* SacredHospitality: Guest friendship is a concept of great importance in Thylea. It requires all hosts to show generosity and courtesy to guests who are far from home, no matter what disputes may divide the two parties. The bond is established as soon as the guest has shared a meal with the host, and ends when the guest has departed with the host's blessing. After that, the two may become enemies once more. Violating this is considered one of the largest sins possible, usually earning a trip to the Island of Oathbreakers by the Erinyes as punishment .

The players have to deal with Estor's ghost who haunts the ship though.

* KneelBeforeZod: Sydon's arrogance is such that, during TheWarSequence, his arrival has him demanding the player characters kneel before him, among other things. This can be an ExploitedTrope if the player characters are pragmatic enough though, as Sydon is so prideful that he would never expect someone to pretend to bow, giving players an opening to surprise him.

* LoopholeAbuse: Since the Oath of Peace means the Titans and Gods cannot directly harm each other, they instead use proxies as a way of getting around it. * TheWarSequence: The main finale of the module involves a major battle against the Titans and their forces, in which the player characters must (mostly) fight back the Titans through their collected power and resources. They attack the city of Mytros specifically due to being essentially the sea of the Gods power.

** The Oath of Peace was made between the Five Gods and the Titans at the tail-end of the battle between the Titans and the Dragonlords. The Oath states the Titans would give mortal races a 500 year peace/truce provided they still received offerings, while the Gods are not allowed to pick a fight with the Titans. This means the Gods cannot directly fight followers of the Titans without breaking the Oath, which is a problem for some of the Gods like Pythor.

The module is set in the world of Thylea, a world once ravaged by a great war between the Titans, and the Dragonlords; mortal champions who came to Thylea. In the end, peace was attained when five Gods appeared and swore an Oath of Peace with the Titans, but such an oath is never meant to always last, and so war looms as the Oath reaches the expiration date. To protect the land, the Oracle has foreseen champions who will walk the path of heroes to stop the Titans, even as trouble brews and the Titans prepare for their war..

''Odyssey of the Dragonlords'' is an adventure module for [[TabletopGame/DungeonsAndDragonsFifthEdition the fifth edition]] of ''TabletopGame/DungeonsAndDragons'', released in early 2020. Instead of being produced by Creator/WizardsOfTheCoast, it was written by Creator/ModiphiusEntertainment, a team composed of many former Creator/BioWare employees who worked on games like ''VideoGame/BaldursGate'', and ''VideoGame/DragonAgeOrigins''. Inspired by Myth/ClassicalMythology, the campaign involves heroes fighting the Gods, and more, as they explore a rich setting.

The module is set in the world of Thylea, a world once ravaged by a great war between the Titans, and the Dragonlords; mortal champions who came to Thylea.
