* OnlyInItForTheMoney: At least 90 percent of the GTTF indulges in this trope, and as the series progresses, it becomes the unit's number-one priority to get paid (mostly illegally from robbing drug dealers, regular law abiding citizens, extortion and wire fraud) instead of “protecting and serving” the people of Baltimore.

* AtLeastIAdmitIt: A couple of the dirty cops are shown to be (mildly) irritated or incredulous at Jenkins' anger at being called a dirty cop. When they point out that they all are, including him, Jenkins immediately reframes it into him not being a "bad guy". These same cops are also shown to be quick to cooperate once they get caught, don't whinge or attempt to excuse themselves and [[VillainRespect sincerely compliment their arrestors' thorough police work]] in a way that doesn't appear to be a calculated attempt to get a lighter sentence, suggesting that on some level they accept that they're bad guys who have been caught fair and square by the good guys. Jenkins remains indignant and insistent that he holds the moral high ground for much longer.

** Episode Two shows us glimpses of Jenkins's descent from a straight-laced rookie in 2003 into the borderline-megalomaniacal DirtyCop he is at the time of his arrest in 2017. In one instance, he's shown bringing a bunch crabs to a BBQ, only to be upstaged by a friend who brought lobster and fancy steaks. In lamenting the money he spent, it foreshadows his decision to start gaining money by any means, even if it means being more brutal with suspects.
