Determinator: Changed "rufied" to "roofied", "tazer" to "taser" and "an" to "and".

* {{Determinator}}: A few characters potentially, but Veronica herself definitely fits the best. Let's list all the things that happen to her throughout the show: her boyfriend dumps her without notice, her best friend is murdered, she's rufied and raped, she's framed for cheating multiple times in an academic context (which is an efficient way to sabotage an academic career), she's locked in a burning fridge, attacked with her own tazer, and roughed up by an Irish mobster. That's not to count the relentless bullying an emotional isolation the rest of her school puts her through. And her response to all this? ''Find out who's responsible for [insert travesty] and make them pay.''

** A few elements bookend the first season. Keith Mars kinda skeeves out Veronica by saying "Who's your daddy?" ("I hate when you say that"). He also tells her, before going on a stakeout in the pilot, to take back-up (Backup is their pit bull); when Aaron Eckel's tries to steal his car for a get-away in the season finale, he's surprised by Backup in the back seat.

As a real estate tycoon who served time in Chino for fraud, he is now campaigning the county to repeal rent control with appeals to returning Neptune to its former glory, an era that Veronica and Keith both claim never existed to begin with. * HeinousnessRetcon: In season 1, Veronica investigates the circumstances around the night she was raped and confronts [[spoiler:Cassidy Casablancas]], one of her initial main suspects. He admits that his BigBrotherBully tried to pressure him to do it, but he couldn't go through with it. This is accepted, with him just being a secondary character who is quickly dismissed from the investigation and has no further role in the plot. Come season 2, and [[spoiler:Cassidy]] is {{revis|ion}}ed to now be the calculating BigBad of the season who is the mastermind behind several murders. With Veronica randomly realizing that he was lying to her before and really did rape her, all delivered in a single line.

The whole thing's just wrong. Casablancas only orchestrated the first two bombs, one to scare the owner of the hotel he wanted to buy, and one to get rid of the bomber/evidence. (Although Clyde was actually responsible for the second one.) Penn wasn't responsible for the first bomb, he was responsible for bombs 3 - 5, where he was a copycat bomber trying to disguise under what he believed was the MO of the original bombing. A dead fiance is never mentioned, I have no idea where that was pulled from, but he himself was almost drowned years in the past. His bombings was for the sake of notoriety and fame, and for people to take him seriously. The bomb also kills Logan not during their wedding but rather as they prepared for their honeymoon.

** Season 4 has Richard "Big Dick" Casablancas who was always a villain from his first appearance in Season 2, when he was running a Ponzi scheme on top of bullying his youngest son. [[spoiler:And he also committed the other bombings to drive out undesirables from Neptune. But he wasn't behind the first bombing, which was done by the apparently EndearinglyDorky Penn in order to avenge his fiancée's death. Penn then kills Logan during his and Veronica's wedding.]]

** The Nepture High School has the Tritons, a secret society for the richest kids at the school. In "Clash of the Tritons" they end up becoming suspects in falsely accusing Veronica of distributing fake [=IDs=]. However, despite their hooded robes and weird rituals, it turns out that they're innocent in this case: the whole thing was arranged by a student by the name of Rick as revenge against the Tritons for rejecting his membership - ''and'' revenge against Veronica, as Keith got his father arrested for embezzlement.
** A much more malign version is present in "The Bitch Is Back", with the Castle at for Hearst College, which might just cross the line into a full-fledged {{cult}}. Among other things, pledges are tortured to make them tell the truth about their various misdeeds.

** Though it's possible he's just saying it to annoy Veronica, Logan insults her then-boyfriend Duncan's prowess by saying that, if the cuddling was the best part, he didn't do it "right". Veronica and Duncan then break up (due to circumstances, not because of the sex) and Logan goes on to be part of an OfficialCouple with Veronica, following the inference that Logan is a much better and more enthusiastic lay than Duncan.
** Zigzagged before being played straight. Mac wants to lose her virginity to her first boyfriend, the otherwise-sympathetic Cassidy Casablancas, who's very nervous and averse to sex and sexuality in general, to the point where Mac thinks there's something wrong with her. When they finally get around to trying to have sex for real, Cassidy [[TheLoinsSleepTonight can't get it up.]] [[spoiler: Immediately after this, it's then revealed that Cassidy is a mass-murderer who raped Veronica while she was unconscious before the start of the series.]]
