* DarkerAndEdgier: The opening sequences perfectly show the change in mood of the Tenth Doctor in between series: the first has Series 2 Ten face the Cybermen with a big, cheesy grin on his face while the second has a Series 3 Ten, post-Doomsday and face to face with supposedly extinct Daleks, shoot a stern DeathGlare.
* DeathGlare: The Doctor shoots one to the Daleks in the second season opening, stopping them dead in their tracks.

''Totally Doctor Who'' was a CompanionShow to ''Series/DoctorWho''. Like ''Series/DoctorWhoConfidential'' but more kid-oriented, ''Totally Doctor Who'' aired on Creator/{{CBBC}}, offering a behind-the-scenes look at the series as well as other bonus features. Two seasons were produced, accompanying the second and third seasons (2006-07) of the revived ''Doctor Who''. Ultimately, ''Totally'' was cancelled as a result of ''Doctor Who'' SpinOff series ''Series/TheSarahJaneAdventures'' launching on CBBC in 2007, the network being unwilling to support two ''Doctor Who'' shows in the same year.

''Totally's'' second and final season included an animated Doctor Who serial, "The Infinite Quest".

* AnimatedCreditsOpening: Four kid Whovians summon a host of characters, are menaced by baddies then rescued by the Doctors. It should be noted that this opening sequence is of a different art style than that which would be used for "The Infinite Quest".
* BigDamnHeroes: The Tenth Doctor arrives in the TARDIS to pick up the four kids, saving them from the Cybermen/Daleks.
* EarlyBirdCameo: Both season openings offered a look at allies and enemies who would appear in the first half of the associated series of ''Doctor Who''.
* DeathGlare: The Doctor shoots one to the Daleks in the second season opening, stopping them dead in their tracks.
* EvolvingCredits: The first season titles features Series 2 characters, with a trio of Cybermen menacing the kids. The second season updates this, featuring Series 3 characters and swapping the Cybermen for Daleks.
* ImperialStormtrooperMarksmanshipAcademy: Most embarsssingly for two of the Doctor's greatest enemies, a trio of Cybermen and then the Daleks fail to hit a quartet of human children before the Doctor comes in.
* ImprobableInfantSurival: Of course, the kids manage to evade the Cybermen/Daleks.
* WouldHurtAChild: Consistent with their on-screen appearance, the Cybermen and the Daleks do not hesitate to open fire on children. Thankfully, they are terrible shots.
