''The Mick'' is a single-camera sitcom starring Creator/KaitlinOlson (''Series/ItsAlwaysSunnyInPhiladelphia'') as Mackenzie "Mickey" Molng, an irresponsible grifter who ends up babysitting her wealthy sister Poodle’s three spoiled kids indefinitely after Poodle and her husband are arrested by the FBI on fraud charges and subsequently flee the country.

Sabrina (Sofia Black D’Elia), the oldest of the kids, is 18-going-on-30, an ambitious limousine liberal who sees her aunt as representing everything wrong with the world in all the worst ways. Chip (Thomas Barbusca), the middle child, is a smug, entitled alpha male who considers himself the man of the house despite being all of thirteen years old. Ben (Jack Stanton), the youngest, is an adorable if precocious and sheltered seven-year-old. Other characters include Alba (Carla Jimenez), the kids’ long-suffering maid; Jimmy (Scott [=MacArthur=]), Mickey’s not-boyfriend; and Liz (Susan Park), Poodle’s gossipy and interfering neighbor.

Poodle promises Mick the money if she can just watch the kids for one night while everything is sorted out.

Mick quickly has problems with the kids. Sabrina is an entitled limousine liberal who sees her aunt as representing everything wrong in the world in all the worst ways. Chip is an entitled alpha male who refuses to let the fact that he's twelve change the fact that he's the man of the house. And Ben... is the youngest, and actually gets along with his aunt quite well.

On the second night, when Mick is reaching the end of her rope, her sister calls to say that they fled the country, and Mick needs to continue watching the kids indefinitely.
