* TwoGirlsAndAGuy: Cameron, Damian, Hannah. They referred to themselves as "the threesome" and there were plenty of heartwarming moments between them.

* EveryoneMeetsEveryone: While some contestants met and became friends during the callback round where everyone was still vying to become an official cast member, once a person arrived in L.A. they were kept sequestered from the rest of the cast and didn't find out who'd made it until the opening moments of each season premier.
* Season 1 does this entirely off screen, with the contestants having met and gotten to know each other for at least a day by the time the first episode starts. Season 2 plays it out right by showing us everyone seeing each other for the first time.

** Instead of one big music video there were four smaller ones, each centered around a different pair.

** Instead of the bottom three people singing, it was the bottom three pairs. From them, the bottom three would be chosen. However, they wouldn’t sing again; it went straight to elimination after that.
