It's one of at least six television adaptations of the novel ''The Four Great Constables'' by Woon Swee Oan. Unlike the previous adaptations it adds fantasy elements to the story.
During the Song dynasty four constables join forces to solve murder mysteries. At the same time one of their enemies tries to get rid of them before they can reveal all his crimes.
