* HateSink: Kate certainly wasn't created with the purpose to gain lots of fans. She initially seems like a CoolAunt, but her violence and cruelty against werewolves in general, and her later revealed sexually exploitative relationship with teenaged Derek soon turned people against her. According to Kate's actress Jill Wagner it got so bad, that even the crew started throwing things at her when she filmed scenes in Season 1.

* OneSteveLimit: We have Nurse Jennifer and teacher Jennifer Blake, Sheriff Noah Stillinski and chimera Noah Patrick, student/assassin Garrett and teacher Garrett Douglas. The Noahs are the only ones who meet each others.

* AdultFear:
** In "Fury", when Matt shoots Scott, Stiles' father is locked in another room when he hears the gunshot. He panics and begins shouting for his son and Scott, not knowing what is happening or who was hurt. Made worse because Scott's mom ''saw'' her own son shot and Matt refused to let her go to Scott, despite her pleas.
** Sheriff Stilinski's reaction and horror at Stiles' kidnapping is a very accurate portrayal of every parent's worst nightmare of losing their children.
** In 3B, things point to Stiles developing the same illness that killed his mother. Fortunately, it turns out to be a trick by the entity who tried to possess him.
** "Echo House" takes this UpToEleven when the sheriff must commit Stiles (Stiles technically commits himself, but he makes his Dad go with it) to a mental institution, because he's a very real danger to himself and others.
