* WeaponsUnderstudies: The gunsmiths at Red Jacket Firearms are asked by a WWII veteran to build a quad anti-air cannon for a re-enactment as part of an anniversary celebration. They originally planned to stay true to the original design, based on the .50cal BMG, but when it became apparent that each would cost about $100,000 to build, they decided to use far-cheaper MG-42s in their quad-cannon instead. (Flem notices the irony of using the enemy's weapon; cut to a Confession Cam scene where he apologizes to his WWII veteran grandfather.)

Having won the medal for using flamethrowers several times at Iwo Jima, Woody strapped a flamethrower on for the show and lit up the bunker like he knew what he was doing.
** Several [=WW2=] veterans including Woody got together to fire a restored anti-tank cannon in one episode.

** Will, at the prompting of SWAT Team Consultant/Mercenary Marco, decided that simply having a guy using a shotgun to shoot out a lock then switching to a rifle took to long. So he took an M16 and mounted a shotgun on it. He called it a Master Key, because it can open any lock.
** To be fair, though, it's [[http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/KAC_Masterkey not really an original idea.]]

* BayonetYa: One of the requirements for the zombie guns in the season 3 finale was that they be able to engage in melee combat once their ammo was exhausted. Both weapons were fitted with bayonets, one of them consisting of two spikes permanently mounted to the barrel. Also, if you look closely at the Masterkey shotgun, the muzzle brake was filed into sharp points for use in close-quarters combat.
** Actually, the points on the muzzle brake are standard on any shotgun designed for door-breaching. They allow the breacher to place the shotgun firmly against the wooden door without the muzzle of the gun slipping off. Its application as a melee weapon is largely coincidental.
