* MirrorUniverse: A ''literal'' example, since the moment of transition suddenly reflects the screen. Later, we learn that people read English right-to-left there. In fact, characters are even written backwards. Naturally, everyone he knows is a polar opposite in this universe. Talmadge is a MadScientist experimenting with alien tech, Donovan is an AxCrazy militant who likes wearing leather and PuttingOnTheReich, Owsley is a well-mannered college graduate, and Olga's sister behaves more like Olga (who's dead in this world) than like her Prime self. Naturally, the US is a military dictatorship, and the purpose of the Backstep project is to help the government in fighting LaResistance.

* OffscreenTeleportation: The Sphere usually gets hauled from Parker's landing spot back to the Backstep facility offscreen, and very speedily. It is acknowledged they have their own cargo transport team to take care of this, though they are directly seen only a couple of times. They must be really damn good at what they do, given that the places Parker has landed the Sphere includes the sea floor at depth of 300 feet around the Bering Strait.

Added DiffLines:

* ButterflyOfDoom: In the pilot episode Olga explains that the Sphere traveling back in time can cause noticeable changes to events already by the air it displaces.

Added DiffLines:

* InsaneEqualsViolent: In "The Dunwych Madness" Olga suggests that sudden violent behavior could be the result of "a psychotic break". A psychotic break means losing touch with reality, not a violent outburst. Possibly the writing is making the common mistake of equating psychosis with psychopathy.

If there's no Teaser, then don't list it.

* SecondLawOfMetafictionalThermodynamics. UsefulNotes/TheWhiteHouse, UsefulNotes/ThePentagon, whole countries: everything explodes.

* TheTeaser. Actually, a lack thereof, which by this time was unusual

If it's aboveground, then it's not the trope. I'm moving Character Outlives Actor to the Trivia page.

* CharacterOutlivesActor: The reason why Ballard left the show and was replaced by Owsley is because his actor Sam Whipple was battling cancer. He died soon afterward.

* ElaborateUndergroundBase: Technically, an Elaborate ''Aboveground'' Base. Backstep was located at a facility in the Nevada desert nicknamed "Never-Never Land". This has long been rumored to be the designation for the USAF Groom Lake facility, a.k.a. Area 51.

* AHandfulForAnEye: Olga takes down a mercenary thug at one point by splashing hot coffee in his face.
