* AllForNothing: Despite everything Jax Teller sacrificed, SAMCRO remains the gun running business. By the end of the series [[spoilers: the peace between the Mayans and the Sons of Anarchy is once again shattered.]]

* AnyoneCanDie: Just like in ''Series/SonsOfAnarchy''. So far, [[spoiler:Kevin Jimenez, Devante Cano, Riz, Ramos, Montez, Dita Galindo, Steve, Ibarra, Anna Linares, Coco, Gaby, Canche, Erin, Jay-Jay, El Banquero, Manny, Happy Lowman, Luisa, Jess, and Creeper]] have bit the dust. By the end of the series [[spoiler:Diaz, Hope, Felipe, Isaac, Downer, Miguel Galindo, Sofia and EZ himself]] join the list as well.

* LoopholeAbuse: In "Kukulan" two Mayans are harrassing EZ because they were friends/the cousin of a Mayan that EZ revealed to be stealing from the club which got him killed. As a prospect EZ is not allowed to hit a full patched member until Coco "Orders" EZ to beat the crap out of the two of them, when they complain about it, Coco points out he was following a patched brother's orders.

* AllForNothing: Despite everything Jax Teller sacrificed, SAMCRO has reverted to their old ways and are again in the gun running business.

* AnyoneCanDie: Just like in ''Series/SonsOfAnarchy''. So far, [[spoiler:Kevin Jimenez, Riz, Dita Galindo, Devante Cano, Coco, Gaby, Canche, Erin, Jay-Jay, El Banquero, Manny, Happy Lowman, Luisa, Jess, and Creeper]] have bit the dust.

* BolivianArmyEnding: At the end of the series finale, the Mayans' clubhouse is [[spoiler:raided by armed police officers]]. Several gunshots go off, but we have no idea who (if anybody) died.

* TheCameo: [[spoiler:[[Creator/KateySagal Gemma]] [[Series/SonsOfAnarchy Teller]] turns up in the first episode in one of EZ's flashbacks.]]
* ChildSoldiers: Several of the rebels, all orphaned by the cartel. [[spoiler:The cartel starts recruiting their own in episode 3.]]

* TheCoup: In season 3, the relations between the Santo Padre chapter and the other Mayans chapters reach a new low and Bishop refuses to obey orders from the other two Kings. The Arizona chapters are caught in the middle and fear for their survival without the heroin brought in by Santo Padre. EZ proposes that Santo Padre and the Arizona chapters ally and cut ties with the other chapters unless they also disown the Kings. The ultimate goal is to dethrone the Kings and have Santo Padre take over full leadership of the Mayan organization.

* DyingTown: Santo Padre is a pretty poor town to begin with but it survives due to being close to a border crossing. When the border crossing is closed in season 3, the town quickly goes bankrupt and can't afford basic services like trash collection. The increased law enforcement presence means that even illegal businesses start to lose money.

* FramingTheGuiltyParty: Needing to show progress against the rebels, the Mayans point a group of mercenaries at a vicious gang of human traffickers and claim that they are actually a rebel cell. While backing up the mercenaries, the Mayans make sure that none of the Olvidades are taken alive and then plant evidence like propaganda pamphlets and cell phones used to call rebel leaders.

* FramingTheGuiltyParty: Needing to show progress against the rebels, the Mayans point a group of mercenaries at a vicious gang of human traffickers and claim that they are actually a rebel cell. While backing up the mercenaries, the Mayans make sure that none of the "rebels" are taken alive and then plant evidence like propaganda pamphlets and cell phones used to call rebel leaders.

* MortonsFork: [[spoiler:EZ's ex-girlfriend [[NewOldFlame Gaby]] returning to his life only to rat out his brother Angel]] traps EZ into two brutal choices. Either he lets [[spoiler:Gaby rat out Angel, or he kills Gaby to stop it from happening. EZ opts for the latter.]]

* PassThePopcorn: In the above mentioned fight between EZ and two patched mayans, Happy and Quinn from SAMCRO are seen watching the fight happening with giant smiles on their faces.

* StealingFromTheTill: After some junkies overdose, the Mayan leaders discover that their heroin has been cut with fentynol. This is not only bad for business (the Mayans have a reputation for selling pure heroin) but it also means that a member is stealing from the club. They send out new shipments of heroin and then intercept the packages before they arrive at their destination. One of the packages has been tampered with and had heroin replaced by fentynol. The Mayan who handled the package is apprehended and then killed by injecting him with his own lethal product.

* ThereIsNoKillLikeOverkill: After a dirty cop kills a Mayan, the club tracks him down, hangs him upside down from a tree and then all the club members empty their guns into him.

* RetiredMonster: The patriarch of the Reyes family, Felipe Reyes, runs a butcher's shop now. [[spoiler:He used to be an undercover agent for the Mexican Drug Enforcement Agency, who infiltrated the cartels and committed acts of considerable brutality -- he has a picture of himself and his partner with three severed heads piled in front of them. When EZ's handlers start pushing for EZ to put himself into more danger, Felipe starts pushing back, revealing just who he was and threatening to come ''out'' of retirement.]]

''Mayans M.C.'' is a television drama series from the Creator/{{FX network|s}}; it's a spin-off from ''Series/SonsOfAnarchy'', taking place two years after the events of the finale. Created by Creator/KurtSutter and Elgin James, ''Mayans M.C.'' revolves around the titular Mayans Motorcycle Club, the "frenemies" of the Sons of Anarchy. It tells the story of Ezekiel "EZ" Reyes, a prospect in the Mayan charter on the California/Mexico border. EZ is the gifted son of a proud Latino family, whose American dream was snuffed out by cartel violence. Now, his need for vengeance drives him toward a life he never intended and can never escape.

It stars Creator/JDPardo, Creator/SarahBolger, Michael Irby, Carla Baratta, Richard Cabral, Raoul Trujillo, Antonio Jaramillo, Danny Pino and Creator/EdwardJamesOlmos.

* EarnYourHappyEnding: Most of the characters end up dead, arrested, or traumatized by the series finale, but [[spoiler:Emily Galindo]] is the one character who makes it through mostly unscathed. [[spoiler:She ends up murdering Miguel before he can grant himself immunity, and later kills Luis, framing him to make it seem like a murder-suicide. Because there's no security footage of her, it's likely Emily won't be charged with anything, meaning she and Cristobal can live their lives free of Miguel]].
