* LaserGuidedKarma: Both averted and played straight in the episode "Big in Japan." Musashi is revered as a hero for winning a major battle long ago, a bit of an arrogant playboy spending money as he hooks up with various women. He's about to ascend to the head of his clan and recieve the power of his ancestors and asks Bo to find out who's trying to kill him. It turns out to be Musashi's sister, Tomoe but for a good reason. ''She'' was the one who won that battle long ago and when people assumed it was Musashi (being the elder son), she let them do so out of honor, not knowing her brother would turn so arrogant. She's just discovered that if Musashi attempts to ascend to the clan head under such a lie, he'll be cursed into a demon who literally licks toliets for eternity. Knowing he'll never admit the truth (he's come to believe his own lie), Tomoe is now trying to save her brother from such a horrible fate.
** Played straight as Bo and Tamsin help Tomoe prove at the ceremony that she was the hero and Musashi confesses he's been taking the credit all these centuries. He tries to kill Bo but she manages to recover and Musashi discovers that once it's known he's a cowardly fraud, no one wants anything to do with him. He's also forced to spend the next century or so working a menial job at the family resturant to pay back all the clan money he spent on himself.

** The Fae world is divided between the Light Fae, who make some token efforts to avoid being completely SelfishEvil, and the Dark Fae who… really, really don't. The more heroic characters try to hold themselves to a higher standard, but even they are all a bit morally ambiguous.
*** Exceptions in both directions sometimes nudge it closer to GreyAndGrayMorality, or even BlueAndOrangeMorality, but very rarely does anything come close to BlackAndWhiteMorality.
*** An example in "Masks" is the Shaman's horrified reaction to Bo trying to undo all his curses:
-->'''Xiambe:''' Stop! You have no idea what you are doing!\\
'''Bo:''' Yes, I do. I'm freeing innocent people.\\
'''Xiambe:''' Not all the cursed are innocent people. Not even by your standards.
** Discussed by the Blackthorn in "I Fought the Fae (And The Fae Won)." He comments that some of the Light Fae don't think that "Light" is a proper term for them. He acknowledges that Light Fae hunt humans for food, but Dark Fae do it for food and ''pleasure''.
** It really says something about the show's morality when TheReveal that a high-ranking Light Fae ([[spoiler:Lachlan]]) is actually a good guy and not the JerkAss he appeared to be is a legitimate surprise.
** The Dark Fae [[spoiler:Ryan]] actually discusses this with Bo at one point, citing Lachlan throwing Lauren in a dungeon as an example of how the Light can be.
** AtLeastIAdmitIt: In "Let the Dark Times Roll," the Morrigan claims the only difference between the Light and Dark is that Dark don't pretend to be something they're not. Kenzi later describes it as "The Light Fae are assholes, the Dark Fae are assholes who know how to have fun."

* TheGoodTheBadAndTheEvil: The Fae world is divided between the Light Fae (the "Good") who make some token efforts to avoid being completely SelfishEvil, and the Dark Fae who… really, really don't (the Bad). But it's all shades of grey, and the real villains are monsters (the Evil) with no Light/Dark allegiance.
