''Legacies'' is a 2018 supernatural horror series on Creator/TheCW, as well as a spinoff of both ''Series/TheVampireDiaries'' and ''Series/TheOriginals''.

Set two years after ''Series/TheOriginals'', ''Legacies'' follows Hope Mikaelson (Creator/DanielleRoseRussell), the tribrid (vampire, werewolf, ''[[HybridPower and]]'' witch) daughter of Klaus Mikaelson --one of the original vampires-- at the [[AllGhoulsSchool Salvatore School for the Young and Gifted]], located in Mystic Falls.

''Legacies'' is notable for being the second ''Vampire Diaries'' spinoff, and the third series of Series/TheVampireDiariesUniverse overall.

** It's soon revealed that a long time ago something happened to cause everyone on Earth to forget all these creatures existed, explaining why they were never brought up on the previous two shows.

** It's revealed that [[spoiler:it was a {{Golem}} created by a witch, a werewolf, and a vampire centuries ago to save humanity from evil supernaturals that started it all named ''Malivore''. Malivore consumed many creatures and wiped existence of them from the public consciousness. Eventually, it was betrayed and turned into a tar pit, which now serves the same purpose but is under the control of [[EvilInc Triad Industries]], which capture supernaturals and toss them into the pit, and many humans too. They can't do the same to witches, vampires, and werewolves, since the original creators have placed a RestrainingBolt to that effect]].

* TheCameo: Jeremy Gilbert from ''Series/TheVampireDiaries'' who appears in episode three "We're being Punked, Pedro", revealed to do work for Alaric and rescues Landon and Rafael from a hunter.

* MutualEnvy: [[ spoiler: In Season 2, both Hope and Josie feel jealous of each other about Landon as Josie knows Hope is his TrueLove and Hope saw how happy they look like when she came back of the Malivore. Though they don't apply this trope anymore Landon choose Hope.]]

* YourCheatingHeart: Apparently, Dana has been sleeping with her best friend Sasha's boyfriend Connor behind Sasha's back. [[spoiler:Both Dana and Connor die in the fourth episode, while Sasha survives.]]
** Actually, when compelled Dana said that she was secretly in love with Connor, implying that he didn't know about her feelings, although it's played straight in the ItsAWonderfulPlot episode where Josie is one of the popular kids at Mystic High and dating Connor, but he's seeing Dana behind her back.

* BiTheWay: Josie, who most remember as a little kid from the Vampire Diaries, is stated to be pansexual.
