* MythologyGag: Gentaro winding up with the belt due to Kengo's condition brings to mind Creator/HiroshiFujioka's well-documented GameBreakingInjury, which led to the creation of the second Kamen Rider. [[Series/KamenRiderOOO Not the only time it's been done, either...]]

** #7-8 has a good number of these. The Hound Zodiarts is shown dangling a bundle of chains resembling the poachers' lure from ''Film/MightyJoeYoung'', and Satake claims to be "[[Disney/LiloAndStitch the one they call in when things go wrong]]".

** Kamen Rider Meteor's support is named Tachibana in honor or Tobei Tachibana, who was an ally and mechanic to the first seven Showa Riders (from No. 1 to Stronger).

* TheQuarterback: Shun Daimonji, the school's star quarterback. He starts off as a JerkJock taken to such an extreme that he even interferes with Fourze defeating the MonsterOfTheWeek because of a grudge with the titular Kamen Rider. Later, though, he owns up to his FreudianExcuse (a controlling, perfectionist father) and works toward becoming a better person. He even joins the Kamen Rider Club, and assists Fourze in battle by piloting the PowerDizer.

** Rocket State's FinishingMove, Tailspin Crusher, is an {{Homage}} to two of Rider 1's moves, the [[EverythingIsBetterWithSpinning Tailspin Shoot]] and [[UseYourHead Head Crusher]].

* ChekhovsGun: The Meteor Storm Anime/{{Beyblade}}'s ability to absorb and reuse all damage comes up again in #44, as it turns out to be the best thing to counter the Gemini ActionBomb ability.

** #42. The Meteor Storm Anime/{{Beyblade}} left spinning continuously [[spoiler:after Ryusei himself is apparently sent to the Dark Nebula]] just screams ''Film/{{Inception}}''. [[spoiler:Incidentally, Emoto's role is revealed to be an agenda within an agenda.]]

* ''Film/KamenRiderXSuperSentaiSuperHeroTaisen'', the debut of the ''Super Hero Taisen'' movie series crossing over ''Franchise/KamenRider'' and ''SuperSentai''.

** #9-10 feature [[Film/TheCraft a trio of goth girls]] [[Series/{{Charmed}} dabbling in witchcraft]].

* SignatureStyle: Yes, KoichiSakamoto has a hand in this show, and just to hammer it home we have Fourze jumping off a flying bike to kick the enemy in #2. Other elements of Sakamoto's style are present such as the wire-fu (in mild doses when compared to ''PowerRangers'') and filming at an angle. And in episode #32 and #48, the [[FanNickname Kalishplosions]] even get carried over.

* MultiformBalance: Fourze's forms are known as "States". Base States is a JackOfAllStats, Elek States is a StoneWall, Fire States is a GlassCannon, Magnet States is a MightyGlacier, and Cosmic States is the SuperMode. In the movies and other tie-ins, he gets the FragileSpeedster Rocket States, LightningBruiser Rocket Drill States, and alternate {{Super Mode}}s Meteor Fusion States and crancked UpToEleven for Meteor Nadeshiko Fusion States.

[[spoiler:Which turns downright meta as Emoto turned on Rokuro, thanks in part to Gamou's manipulations, which is precisely what happened with Sonken, Ryuubi and Sousou's precursors Sun Quan, Liu Bei and Cao Cao in ''RomanceofTheThreeKingdoms''.]]

The 2011-2012 ''Franchise/KamenRider'' series and the thirteenth entry in the franchise's Heisei era. Pronounced "Four-Zeh" as in "'''Four'''-'''Ze'''ro",[[note]]In Japanese phonetics[[/note]] i.e. ''Franchise/KamenRider'''s 40th anniversary series.

* DefeatMeansFriendship: Gentaro seems to be taking a page from [[LyricalNanoha Nanoha's]] book, as he (or one of his posse) will comfort the VictimOfTheWeek afterwards.

* GrandFinale: To the informal NumericalThemeNaming trilogy started with KamenRiderDouble (2) and followed by KamenRiderOOO (3). It also served as a conclusion to the overarching subplot of Foundation X with the organization rendered inactive until the events of KamenRiderExAid several years later.

** Not only is the Cygnus Zodiarts similar to both [[Series/KamenRiderDenO Seig]] and [[Series/KamenRiderKiva Ixa]], but the Cygnus cult meeting involves a SwanLake ballet ''and'' an exercise ritual worthy of IXA-Cise. Towards the end of #23, Cygnus performs a kick that is very similar to the ''[[Series/KamenRiderDouble Fang Streiser.]]''

** #20 has Meteor delivering RapidFireFisticuffs IpMan-style. Rather appropriate considering [[Creator/BruceLee where all his other moves came from.]]

** As early as episode two, this is hinted at, as Tomoko explains what a Kamen Rider is while showing videos of [[Series/KamenRider the first Kamen Rider]], [[Series/KamenRiderSuper1 Super-1]], [[Series/KamenRiderBlackRX Black RX]], [[Series/KamenRiderKuuga and Kuuga]], along with the Fuuto Tower. Movie Wars Megamax, which is definitely canon as it affects the latter half of Fourze, ties Double and OOO into this as well, along with the first seven riders. At the least, this means that most of the Showa Riders, Kuuga, and the "Neo-Heisei" Riders all share the same verse.

** #43: Yuuki's questionable antics revealed to be the [[spoiler: actions of her doubleganger?]] Not a surprise. Her not being a willing [[spoiler: Zodiarts?]] Also not a surprise. But then the stakes get raised when it's revealed that [[spoiler: Yuuki's babbling about the voices from space? That isn't her being loony about space, it's something that actually happened and Gamou has heard those voices as well. He's going to take her Dark Side with him to the stars.]] Oh, and [[spoiler: Yuuki is going to be replaced by her Dark Side in twelve hours, and when time's up, '''she'll vanish completely.''']]

** #20 has Meteor delivering RapidFireFisticuffs IpMan-style. Rather appropriate considering [[BruceLee where all his other moves came from.]]
