All the characters at first appear to conform to stand positions and stereotypes commonly found in such shows, however they prove to more subvert, defy or deconstruct the associated tropes than confirm to them. Standard comical plotlines always end with them being caught, and often face the consequences for such actions etc. This element was mostly abandoned in season 2, and caused a BrokenBase over this made the series better or not.
