!Tropes for the series:
* ClassyCatBurglar: Amanda, in spades. Given she's a thousand years old, she's the best thief alive. It's not about the money for her (she's so rich, she doesn't know how much she has), just the thrill.
* CurseThatCures: Nick Wolfe is dying from poison, but is saved when Amanda shoots him, triggering Nick's latent immortality, which dying from poison would not do. (because a person's "first death" only causes their immortality to kick in if the death is violent and traumatic). Nick sees immortality as [[WhoWantsToLiveForever a curse]], though. and angrily storms off while telling Amanda that he never wants to see her again.
* DivorceRequiresDeath: One episode had Amanda's former husband (a fellow immortal she only married to save her own neck) turn up. They fight and when she had him dead to rights, he pleaded "I'm your husband". She answers "I want a divorce" and offs his head.
* HealingFactor: Immortals have fast healing, the only injuries they do not heal from are ones to the neck, which is why they can only be killed by cutting their heads off. According to the show, severing their spine by any other means also works and they can't regenerate limbs.
* HeelRealization: Amanda is forced to acknowledge how her centuries of theft have probably hurt a lot of people over the years and is now seeking to atone by aiding Nick in cases.
* HolyGround: Keeping with the franchise, Immortals are forbidden from harming anyone in a church, cemetery, or other holy places.
* IHateYouVampireDad - [[spoiler:Or in this case...'I Hate You, Immortal Mom?'. This is pretty much Nick Wolfe's [[WhoWantsToLiveForever response]] to a rather tearful Amanda after she shoots Nick with a gun in order to trigger his immortality.]]
* MyGodWhatHaveIDone: In World War I, Amanda robbed a young soldier of a pouch containing jewels, not caring what else was inside it. When she meets the soldier, now Immortal, she assumes his anger is over what happened. Nick has to break it to her that the pouch also contained orders for the man's division to divert from a planned trap. Because they didn't get the orders, they marched in where the entire division was wiped out. Amanda is stunned her greed contributed to the deaths of hundreds of men, and wonders how many more innocents paid for her actions over the centuries. She's even ready to let the soldier take her head but Nick is able to stop him.
* SpottingTheThread: Nick and Amanda are hired to recover a stolen painting and think they've done it. But when they see it on display, Amanda tells Nick they've been tricked as this is a fake. When Nick says it has the artist's signature, Amanda relates that's the problem: She just happened to have been having an affair with that artist when he got drunk and behind on deadline so Amanda signed it for him. The forger perfectly copied the artist's signature but Amanda knows her own handwriting.
* TakingTheBullet: Claudia Hoffman does this for Amanda, not knowing Amanda is Immortal.
* StupidSacrifice: The first episode climaxes with police officer Claudia Hoffman diving in front of a bullet to protect Amanda, who is immortal and would easily recover from being shot.
* SurvivalThroughSelfSacrifice: One episode had a soldier/vigilante immortal pursuing Amanda because when she once stole some loot from soldiers, including were written orders to evacuate a doomed position, their theft causing the death of everyone there. When Amanda learns his actual motives, she's wracked with guilt and decides to let him behead her; seeing this, he merely shoots her, causing a temporary death, and announces she died with honor.
* VigilanteExecution: In the episode "So Shall Ye Reap", the head of the GovernmentConspiracy to unleash a SterilityPlague on the Third World to save on foreign aid budget gets acquitted, so the old friend of Amanda's who drove the investigation shoots him on the courthouse steps, before being gunned down by his bodyguards.
